The makers of a Channel 4 documentary which claimed that global warming is a swindle misrepresented the views of some of the world's leading climate scientists, the media watchdog is expected to rule next week.
In a judgment at the end of a 15-month enquiry, Ofcom is expected to censure the channel over The Great Global Warming Swindle, broadcast in March last year.
The film sparked outcry from environmentalists and led to a complaint from a group of senior scientists about apparent errors, distortions and misrepresentations.
It is thought that complaints about privacy and fairness from the Government's former chief scientist, Sir David King, and the Nobel peace prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change will be upheld on almost all counts.
But the Guardian reported that a separate complaint about accuracy will find that Channel 4 did not breach the regulator's broadcasting code and did not materially mislead viewers.
The controversy over the film, made by director Martin Durkin, has continued to rage in newspapers and online.
Critics argued that it had misused and fabricated data, relied on out-of-date research and employed misleading arguments.
At the time Channel 4 defended the programme, saying it was a useful contribution to a well-timed debate and that it had also aired programmes supporting the opposite side of the argument.

I recently saw this film. The comments of the experts who appeared in it were pretty direct. Hard to see how their statements condemning global warming alarmism could have been misrepresented.

The Global Warmists have been found guilty of trying to convince, persuade, cajole, anything to keep their grants going and their foundations happy by using more or less a one model argument. The models that measure earth’s warming etc. were in some instances, misused by placing them next to things that generate heat. There are many bumbling attempts made by people who need to keep the myth alive than there is good science. The United Nations’ IPCC is now on deck saying as much…..much of Global Warming is indeed a hoax.

Real but accurate.
The global warming movement is, in blunt terms, an evil, anti-human cult. Its aims are to impoverish developed nations and keep poor nations from improving their condition.

Ordinarily This is great advice, but I am reminded of a documentary I saw with an older Catholic priest. He was asked about the Eucharist and Transubstantiation. In his response he is visibly sweating wiping his brow and plaintively says: I just can't explain it, there is no way to make it clear.
The part that was edited out was his over 20 minute explanation and the interviewer asking the same question over and over with slight variations.
Clearly the editor and interviewer had an agenda and only included material that suited that agenda

As far as not taking the crime trials for heresy against this wrong minded fraudulent religion seriously, remember this it has happened in the past it will happen again. You want to believe we have science and scientists but really we only have scientism and grant whores who care nothing about truth and science in the empirical sense. Our Universities are now nothing more than pseudo-intellectual houses of worship and ignorance. I have absolutely zero respect for the "scientists" who have knowingly let this fraud rage to the point of no return.
Someone save me a search, please - hasn't the guy who was involved in the development of the original satellite based temperature reading equipment warned that, due to design problems, those readings should not be used as a base?

I'm thinking that it's a lot of democrat politicians that have lots of money invested in alternative energy. Sure wish there was a way to find out.
