McCain is not a friend to the GOP.
McCain is not a friend to the Constitution.
McCain could not be trusted as a senator and cannot be trusted as President.
McCain does what is good for McCain first and foremost and that is something you can count on.
Electing McCain will not be good for the country.
If people would refuse to accept the false choices shoved at them there is hope.
Go read about Gideon or Joshua. They did not accept the obvious choices and ended up winning.
McCain may suck, but Obama "sucks" much more.
BTW, Im not planning on voting for Obama, so who does that count for? I have to ask because I didnt get the Happy Meal with the election vote counter decoder ring like the McCainiacs.
What the heck are you talking about?
Exactly. Barack Hussein Obama represents the far left, Juan appeals to the right-to-left-of-center - that is where the bulk of the votes are. Those on the political margins are on the political margins.
“Electing McCain will not be good for the country”
BUT Obama will be?!
That’s the choice we have: McCain or Obama.
John McCain Is For Me by Marie Jon’

“Sorry America, but we can’t afford an Obama presidency. It would be political and social mayhem having a Democrat House, Senate, Supreme Court and Executive branch. For many decades the United States would be held under the sway of a very unjust, destructive force. Our citizenry would have to deal with the extreme rulings of a Supreme Court gone wild. There would be no more checks and balances.
Liberal judges would change our country’s disposition. Even if Americans were roused from their lethargy and subsequently voted in a Republican president and Congress, it would be too late. They would not be able to neutralize the highest court of the land.
McCain will be a good steward of our recourses. Under his leadership, nuclear power and newly developed oil fields will become realities. There will be many different energy strategies employed to help our nation back on its feet.
The sober, sound minds of our country will understand who is best qualified to lead the greatest nation in the world. Let’s pray there are enough of them. Here, there is no doubt. John McCain is for me.”
The lesser of two evils meme (and its brother ...is still evil) has always struck me as being over the top.
In my experience (watching elections since 1976 and participating since 1984), no Republican candidate (and, tell the truth and shame the devil, not many Democrats) has been evil.
I believe it was Reagan who said something like just because I only agree with someone 3/4 of the time does not make him 1/4 my enemy.
Someone else said the perfect is the enemy of the acceptable.
I voted for my first choice, FDT, in my states primary (before he quit...all to soon, to my mind). He was imperfect; he was acceptable. Others then running were likewise imperfect but acceptable.
I cannot vote in another primary; so, as in about half the presidential elections I have voted in, I will now have to vote not for the lesser of evils, but for the least imperfect.
No matter who it is, that one will be identified by the letter R.
Ive dealt with this same problem in 1996 and 2008.
(Been participating since 1984; 84, 88, 92, 2000, and 2004 were all no-brainers to me.)
In each case, my thought was to vote for my principles in the primaries, but against my enemies in the generals.
(I do not use the word enemies lightly. I would rather support someone I agree with a third of the time than one I believe intends my country as I know it actual harm...one who doesnt even mean well.)
Results? I did not contribute, by vote or silence, to BJCs second term; I will not contribute, by vote or silence, to BHOs first.
“McCain may suck, but Obama “sucks” much more.”
Change the word “much” to the word “slightly” and you might have something.
Change the word much to the word slightly and you might have something.
No not at all.
Obama is not "slighlty" worse than McCain. McCain is about 60% conservative. Obama is 0% conservative.
As I said, McCain may suck, but Obama sucks much more.
Horse crap.
Hiding behind 'reality' is the admission of the fear of failing to do something bold.
It won't take a superstar candidate to beat obama, just someone with better character and reputation than McCain.
Unless, of course, you secretly enjoy voting for someone who holds you in contempt and will screw you over the first chance he gets.
“Hiding behind ‘reality’ is the admission of the fear of failing to do something bold.”
Jumping off a cliff may be bold, but it is also STUPID.
In this case, it won’t only kill the person who is doing it, but also puts all the rest of us in serious danger in every respect, when, as a result, Obama becomes president.
Please keep your posts civil and polite, per Admin Moderator's earlier post.

Just curious. What “bold” strategy are you going to initiate which will prevent either McCain or Obama from becoming POTUS?
A massive Write-in campaign for Fred Thompson? Good luck.
“Those of us who declared that we wouldn’t support the GOP because of what they’ve become just don’t publicize it anymore, but we haven’t changed our minds.”
And those who didn’t support the GOP in 1992, and voted for Ross Perot gave us 8 years of Clinton. An Obama presidency will be an unmitigated catastrophy for the country, because he will have a Dem majority in Congress and between them they will also insert a leftist majority into the Courts, thus controlling all three branches of the government.
Nobody, who will be complicit in this, by voting third party or not voting, has the right to call themselves a conservative.
You can’t trust McCain to do anything other than what will benefit McCain.
You’ll end up being coerced into supporting initiatives that you’ll detest and supporting ideas you’d love to oppose.
And then in 4 years when he wants to run again, you’ll have no choice but to support him then again, too.
Sux to sell your soul, doesn’t it?
You’re counting on some miracle that McCain won’t be the nominee aren’t you.. What’s the point of discussing this stuff with anyone that thinks one of those 2 isn’t going to win?
Or do you honestly think a write-in election can happen?
My gosh, how I can’t stand the thought of Obama in the White House. I feel almost as demoralized by the whole procedure as when Clinton won the first time.
My only question is, “What the...!?!”
I’d love to feel all touchy-feely about McCain, but I’ve swallowed my tongue every time he’s shown up on the television with an “R” next to his name, while he holds hands with Kennedy and the rest of the “D’s”, talking down to conservatives everywhere.
If I thought for one minute the man had changed his liberal-lovin’ ways I’d camp out at the polls until the morning they opened and be the first in line to mark the big “R” on the ballot... but I’m afraid he doesn’t breathe except it be for political expediency.
I wish I felt differently, but my memory is not that short.
That is simply not true.
The fact is that Dole was unable to earn enough votes to beat Clinton.
But funny thing is that you are supporting the same man that helped destroy the GOP majority.
How the hell do you justify that?
BTTT!
I am one who is tired of voting against people, I want to vote for somebody. There isn't anybody this go 'round, that's all...
