Dick Mull’s letter attacking Al Gore, Mull evidently used old information from Fox News and Matt Drudge.
According to climateprogress.org and greendaily.com, the Gores bought an 80-year-old house and spent 3 years renovating it to decrease energy use. Gore installed 33 solar panels, a rainwater collection system and a geothermal pump. He has replaced all incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs or light-emitting diodes. The Gores buy their electricity through their utility from Green Power Switch Energy Program, which means it comes from solar and wind power and methane gas. For this he has received a LEED Gold Certification - one of only 14 private homes in the United States with this rating.
When he has to fly in an airplane, he calculates the carbon footprint and purchases carbon offsets to make up for the carbon used.
Congratulations to Al Gore for reducing his energy use so drastically. He is definitely not a hypocrite.

The company I work for is so broke that all they can offer me is Carbon Credits.

Oh goody, he buys carbon credits! He buys nothing to absolve his guilt over something and makes him look good. That makes it all better I guess.
I’ve made up some ‘mocking credits’ on my printer and sold them to myself so I can feel better about having such contempt for the lout-will that be ok?

It’s nice to be reminded of the people who will be cancelling out my vote this November.
The concept of “carbon offsets” makes about as much sense as “murder offsets.” In other words, a homicide can be justified as long as the killer offsets the death by impregnating another person.
This probably makes sense to that letter-writer doofus.

Thank God he was defeated by the slimmest of margins in 2000. IMagine the world today had he somehow become President.
Now, we are faced with any even worse choice and imagined world in 4 or 8 years with Obama.
