Father of victim says U.N. body's order 'don't mean diddly'
Texas is refusing to bow to yesterday's World Court order to stay the Aug. 5 lethal injection of convicted rapist-killer and illegal alien Jose Medellin.
(snip)
Texas Gov. Rick Perry's office rejected Mexico's complaint.
"The world court has no standing in Texas, and Texas is not bound by a ruling or edict from a foreign court," Perry spokesman Robert Black said. "It is easy to get caught up in discussions of international law and justice and treaties. It's very important to remember that these individuals are on death row for killing our citizens."
(snip)
Randy Ertman, father of Jennifer, a 14-year-old girl Medellin raped and murdered, criticized the World Court for attempting to intervene.
"The world court don't mean diddly," he said. "This business belongs in the state of Texas. The people of the state of Texas support the execution. We thank them. The rest of them can go to h-ll."
Adolfo Peña, father of Elizabeth, a 16-year-old girl Medellin also raped and murdered, concurred with Ertman.
"I believe we've been through all the red tape we can go through," he told the Houston Chronicle. "It's time to rock and roll."

According to the Houston Chronicle, international law expert Sarah Cleveland warned if the U.S. ignores the U.N. court order, many other countries may follow its example. Good! Then this World Court can become as irrelevant as the United Nations.

When theyve completed the execution, the remains shouwl be put in a box, shipped to The Hague, and taken to the steps of the World Court. The carcass should then be dumped on those steps and left for the Court to dispose of.Beat me to it.

Thankfully, the World Court has no jurisdiction over American Courts.....yet...
It is frightening to think that as a presidential candidate, Barack Obama has mentioned his willingness on many occassions to entertain the desires of foreign powers and allow other nations to directly influence his policy and the direction of our nation. This attitude is not limited to Obama however but has been expressed many times particularly on the Democrat side of the aisle.
I am reminded of Pres. Washington's warnings to his fellow citizens upon relinquishing his presidency namely his warning regarding political parties and their weaknesses. His remarks prove to be rather prescient in light of today's attitudes being pushed by the Democrats and the press.
Here is just a small relevant portion of that speech:
Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight), the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.
It (Here Pres. Washinton is referring to the problem with political parties in general) serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.
We as Americans need to take heed, remember such warnings, and be prepared to jealously protect our sovereignty instead of relinquishing it without so much as a wimper.

Way to go Texas.You're welcome.
A lot of people (liberals) say that the death penalty is barbarism. No!
We, it seems, just care for our citizens more than other states and countries care for their citizens.
If you commit the ultimate crime while in Texas, you get the ultimate penalty. We remove your ability to draw breath!

We have our own courts. Don't much care what the World Court thinks around here. The sister of one of the victims was on our local news (Waco) last night . It's time to bring this to an end.
According to prison records, 16-year-old Maria Zuniga was looking after two young nephews at her family's home in Waco when Ibarra attacked and killed her...Two months later, he was convicted of sexual assault in an incident involving a young nephew in Bell County and was sentenced to life.
