Did presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obamas campaign plant a fake story accusing itself of campaign finance irregularities, in order to portray itself as victims of right-wing allegations about the campaigns successful Internet fund-raising?
In a July 8 2008-article "Bogus Dowd Column spreads quickly" PolitiFact, a project of the St. Petersburg Times and Congressional Quarterly, reported that blogs and chain e-mails were spreading a Maureen Dowd New York Times column that claims the Obama campaign got suspicious contributions from Iran, Saudi Arabia and China. "But the column is a fake," reports PolitiFact. The New York Times also disowned the Dowd column as a fake.

It was planted by Jesse Jackson.
C’mon folks, you know the rules about MoDo articles....even FAKE ones.....CZJ PICTURES?
Or maybe Hussein is trying to pre-discredit something he knows will come up sooner or later.
This was mentioned in one of the Obama birth certificate threads a week ago.
Hugh Hewitt said there is some wacky stuff on the internet and we don’t need to go there. He used this fake column as an illustration, but I think he was also alluding to the birth certificate issue without saying so.
When is Obama’s fake birth certificate going to break on talk radio?
I think that is exactly what is going on. His "small donor" fundraising which they brag so much about as an indication of his widespread grassroots support has been looking very bogus.
Barack held two fundraisers in China. Doesn’t mean that he got funny money but if we are going to talk about stories of money coming from China being false...
A gag photo of Kerry and Fonda onstage together appeared ever so briefly on FR on a thread with a legitimate photo of Kerry and Fonda together in the audience at a Vietnam war rally.
It was immediately used to discredit the legitimate photo and all discussion of the photo in the media (including Snopes) ignored the satirical quality of the hoax image, that it was appearing in a thread of a legitimate photo.
So advance 4 years to the 2008 election. A mysterious birth certificate for Obama appears on Daily KOS. The Obama campaign and the State of Hawaii refuse all requests for such documents. But KOS has one. And then someone on KOS posts a blank template for generating such documents. No mention in the media or snopes about there being a blank template on the same site where the “actual” birth certificate appeared.
And now Pelosi and bunch are in Austin meeting with the Daily KOS’ YEARLY KOS festival. So the DNC is in collusion with KOS. But the media plays dumb about there being any ties or approval for all things on the KOS site.
Can this election be over already???
This is what worries me about the "birth certificate is a fake" frenzy.
All it takes is Obama producing the original at the end. The critics of his far-left ideology are then laughed off the stage along with the birth certificate conspiracy theorists.
The time to play the card is the day before his accepatance speech. He’ll HAVE to write a new speech or at least take away from getting his own message out there to address some big charges.
I still want the discussion to be his stance on Marxist redistribution of wealth.
KOS with the presentation of the blank template, is already host to a conspiracy. And the DNC is in bed with them.
It’s like saying that we were wrong to take out Saddam, he was just lying about having WMD. A robber who only has his finger in his pocket when he robs a business deserves to be shot just as dead for “faking”.
Those who practice the art of deception have no one to blame when they are caught up in the chain of events.
The fake MoDo oped was quoted and via a link appeared on one of our threads re Mugabe/Obama’s fake Certificate of Birth.
Before the night was over, it was exposed as a fake. I had posted a request that someone post a thread with the original and went to bed.
Shortly after that, it was documented to be a fake on that thread by more than one Freeper. By the time I logged back on the next morning, we knew that the oped was a fake.
Do you really think that Barack Obama has NO legitimate, hard copy birth certificate to triumphantly present with much fanfare to the adoring media at a news conference in the future?
Beware of the lure.
This maybe one of our better ones with Obamination and Sinclair in the same limo.
” . . . in order to discredit the underlying allegations as nothing more than a GOP, right-wing conspiracy.”
Could it be? Another VAST right wing conspiracy? That’s one for Her Horribleness and one for Obama.
