Letter to the Editor from a Cuban
Richmond Times-Dispatch

Posted on 07/17/2008 2:49:14 AM PDT by RexFamilia

Each year I get to celebrate Independence Day twice. On June 30 I celebrate my independence day, and on July 4 I celebrate America's. This year is special, because it marks the 40th anniversary of my independence.

On June 30, 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba, and a few months later, I was in the United States to stay. That I happened to arrive in Richmond on Thanksgiving Day is just part of the story, but I digress.

Thanks for posting. Those wanting Obamaism don’t have a clue what they are getting into.

When the young leader spoke eloquently and passionately and denounced the old system

Well, that would be the first difference. Sure, Obama can give a decent speech when is reading off a prompter. When I hear him interviewed on CNN however, he mumbles, he stumbles and it's sounds like every sentence he begins, he has no idea how he's going to end it. That's the hallmark of a person who doesn't know what he's talking about and has no strong conviction in the matter. And the interviewers let him get away with it, is the most depressing part. Larry King just sits there and nods like Obama just deliviered some profound message and then moves on to some other pre-approved, scripted, toothless question. If only ONCE he said 'hold on there Mr. Obama. What did you mean by that last statement? Could you please clarify?', Obama would crumble.

The man has NO substance and I think more people would realize that if the media didn't continue to prop him up and try to convince people of his "great oratory".

It was sent by message without a link. I would appreciate if anyone can verify and confirm it by checking with the editors of the newspaper (I’m currently overseas and unable to check it) . Thx and regards

I would love to see this guy, reading this letter, in a commercial from now until election day! It should be running in every market in America.

Isn’t it wonderful how every now and then, out of a clear blue sky, comes something that is so insightful and so pertinent to today’s world!

I see the fine hand of the Lord in letters like this!

Hmmmm. Why does the movie "Being There" come to mind?
