On Monday night, at a fund-raiser in New Mexico, John McCain said this about his former mortal enemy, Mitt Romney: Im appreciative every time I see Mitt on television on my behalf. He does a better job for me than he did for himself as a matter of fact. This may not have been a joke.
Yesterday, Romney sat down for an interview with CBS News. It is a striking interview, in part because Romney seems to be making the McCain argument better than McCain, or McCain's campaign. There is a clarity to the soundbites that McCain has mostly lacked, a clear line of attack against Obama's experience and McCain's plans. Add to that whatever fundraising burst Romney could provide as a VP candidate, as well as Romney's strength in key swing states like Michigan and Nevada, and it's not hard to see why McCain may end up with a running mate whose hand he didn't shake in the primaries.
[See video at link]
EXCEPT: Mitt says in the interview that McCain distinguishes himself from Obama on drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge. This is wrong, according to the latest McCain statements. Both McCain and Obama oppose drilling in ANWR.

The posters on this thread, the vast majority of whom support Romney, are neither liberal nor RINO's. You can look at their posting history, which is devoid of liberal leanings.
Your obsessive detestation of Romney doesn't render you more conservative than anyone else, nor does it provide you the standing from which you can cast aspersions on any other Freepers conservatism. It does make your posts tiresome, and drives out other posters on the thread (again like picnickers fleeing yellow jackets), until finally there are no more posters on the thread besides the Romney loathers congratulating each other for making another FR thread into a vapid wasteland.
If he was employed, he was being paid. You do know the difference between volunteer and paid ?
The claim centered on Tancredo’s “debts” being paid off by *omney’s campaign and future $$ support pledged to a Senate campaign in the future. That, sir, is a bribe. His endorsing a clear-cut liberal at a crucial time struck his then-supporters as VERY fishy and bizarre. He had already made a gentleman’s agreement with Hunter to endorse him once he got out. Hunter doesn’t have the kind of $$ to pay off folks. Put two and two together. Like I said, follow the money. Tancredo is a Judas.
The vast majority in this thread posting pro-Willard pap are liberal trolls.
You have a nice night.
It’s all speculation until you lay down some actual proof.
I looked carefully at what you posted and it had no links to any proof.
Speculation and innuendo should not be used to make serious charges of bribery.
Fregards
So, in order to avoid the socially conservative Mormon Veep, the Evangelicals will stay home, and let Obama get by default elected President ? I see, they are only half-stupid?
And so, to appease these irrational and reactive Evangelicals, McCain nominates someone other than Romney, and gives up Romney's advantages that are manifold, profound, geographic and material. Huckabee? Uh, S-Sanford? Pawlenty? Candidates who will either energize no one, or turn off 3X as many as they attract? Bring forth your Veep candidate who will energize McCain's moribund campaign, and let us discuss his or her merits.
I made it. *omney has a history of this sort of behavior during his campaign. It’s despicable. I’ve never been “paid off” to support a candidate, and if I was ever offered such a bribe, I’d tell them where to stick it.
I’m off for tonight. You have a good one.
Ad hominem, check.
Unsupported allegation, check.
Name calling, check.
Devoid of content, check.
You are the Dean of the Romneyphobes.
lol
My conservative activism began when you were in diapers and like many on this board I'M STILL AT IT.
Now I'd like to know what YOU'VE done for conservatism since you're disillusioning stint with Romney in 1994?
LOL.. ya.. you must be a lib in disguise hahahahahaha
Duncan Hunter came to speak on behalf of the very conservative candidate for Bingaman's senate seat in 2000. Hunter did it out of personal loyalty to the man who had won Bill Richardson's congressional seat with the backing of his church, who as congressman from New Mexico's Third District voted for all four articles of impeachment. Hunter was not able to marshal the necessary name-recognition and wide-spread acceptance in the limited time of the primary season.WHO Des Moines, the alma mater of radio celebrity Ronald Reagan, attacked Romney as did afternoon host Steve Deace, a self-admitted recovering porn addict who slobbered all over himself in singing the praises of that guy from Arkansas.
We only have McCain because Christ let Democrats pick him.
If we get the Arab Islamo-Commie from Kenya expect all the glories of the Iranian bomb, military cuts to make the Clinton 40% look innocent, zero counterterrorism, massive taxation and a federal polizei to make sure caloric intake and thermostat settings are correct.
The number one issue is the economy, a subject about which Hussein knows only Marx.
I have been outed/sarc....LOL!
Good graphic! Thanks, Phil! : )
And on that post, guess I better call it a night. :)
Review of the 2007-2008 Campaign
===================================
ALL of the attack ads in Iowa (against Huckabee) are from ... Romney.
ALL of the attack ads in NH (against McCain) are from ... Romney.
ALL of the dirty tricks, including push polls,
fake troopers and badges have been from ... Romney.
Yes, Romney has shown 'bad judgment' and LOATHSOME behavior.
Nice... thanks for doing the tally
