When 59-year-old Round Rock grandmother Linda Smith couldnt shake jet lag after a December trip to Europe, she figured she was going through menopause. It turned out she was pregnant.
It was a big shock, Smith said Tuesday, a day after giving birth to a 5-pound, 11-ounce boy named Django. My husband was jumping up and down for joy, and I was just dumbfounded.
Linda and Steve Smiths first son died in a motorcycle accident in December 2005 at the age of 20.
Some people might think were trying to replace him but were not, Linda Smith said. Were trying to replace the holes in our heart.
We had all this love to give to somebody or something, Steve Smith, also 59, added as he held Django in their north Round Rock home. Well give it to him.
Linda also has two children, ages 35 and 32, from a previous marriage, and Steve has a daughter from a previous marriage, who is 34. Between them they have four grandchildren, ages 17 months to 11 years old.
That makes me want to take a nap!
Django?
Django?
I wish them luck.
They’ll be in their mid-seventies when the kid is at his “teenaged-best”.
Round Rock residents Steve and Linda Smith, both 59, bring home their son Django on Wednesday, a day after he was born. The couple's first son died in a motorcycle wreck in 2005 at age 20, and they have three adult children from previous marriages as well as four grandchildren, from 17 months to 11 years old.
They were Ted Nugent fans with bad speakers - DeWango!, Dejango!
So she’s saying this is a natural pregnancy? That’s the oldest age I’ve ever heard of a woman getting pregnant without some kind of special medical help. Just the fact that she hadn’t gone through menopause yet was pretty amazing.
How did they know he was called Django?
I wish them all the best, and I am happy for them.
However, I am a 59 year old male, and instead of bringing another child into the world at this age, I would have recommended adopting a dog.
My Bride is younger than me, but if she were to tell me that she was pregnant, I would drop dead from a well earned heart attack.
59 years old and she still hasn’t acquired enough common sense to refrain from naming a baby “Django”?
Good for them.But DJANGO?
Maybe they are really into electronica music and they wanted the name to be DJ Ango, but the nurse misspelled it Django?
soooo glad it is not ME.
My reaction too at the name “Django”.
And this is why Western Civilization is going Extinct.
