McCain’s Immigration Two-Step

John McCain set a difficult task for himself in his
speech to the National Council of La Raza. He had to simultaneously reassure liberal Hispanic activists that he is a more reliable champion of comprehensive immigration reform -- otherwise known as amnesty -- than Barack Obama and convince conservatives that he is still committed to the enforcement-first position he took in the Republican primaries. All while denying that he has flip-flopped on immigration.
In substance, his immigration remarks offered something for everyone. He explained his revised position. "Many Americans did not believe us when we said we would secure our borders, and so we failed in our efforts," McCain said of his defeated immigration legislation. "I don't want to fail again... We must prove we have the resources to secure our borders and use them, while respecting the dignity and rights of citizens and legal residents of the United States."
McCain also reiterated his support for legalizing illegal immigrants. He described his work on McCain-Kennedy as "doing the right thing," for which he deserved no special credit. "But I do ask for your trust that when I say I remain committed to fair, practical and comprehensive immigration reform, I mean it," the presumptive Republican nominee deckared. "I think I have earned that trust."
The Arizona senator's conservative critics don't trust him to secure the borders. And a surprisingly heated La Raza question-and-answer session revealed that McCain wasn't given lasting credit for his amnesty advocacy. One questioner challenged him to commit to a single immigration bill as Obama had in his speech to the group. "It is my top priority today and it will be my top priority tomorrow," McCain vowed.

These people (and I mean LaRaza, not ordinary Hispanics) are enemies of this nation.

"McCain also reiterated his support for legalizing illegal immigrants. He described his work on McCain-Kennedy as "doing the right traitorous thing," for which he deserved no special credit blame." There. Now the article makes some sense.

Today McCain said there were 12,000,000 illegal aliens...
Same number as last year ???
Even though there have been are thousands breaking into our country since then ???

Look at McCain’s prior actions. And go from there.
McCain may not be the Manchurian Candidate...but he is the Mazatlan Candidate. I am tired of his pandering to racist groups like La Raza, and will not waste my conservative vote on him

I just got the new request for campaign funds from Carly Fiorina.
I put two pennies in the envelope.
I dont want to violate McCain-Feingold, so two cents should be a safe amount.

I will vote for McCain in the general and fight him tooth and claw on amnesty.
If you listen to the words at la raiza. the real thing is about whether there will be two bills or one bill. You could tell by the questioning that the hispanic activists understood that perfectly too. they understood that they could not get amnesty without a border security cover. the open borders people want one bill. its a bait a switch at worst and a border security cover for amnesty at best.
Conservatives should want two bills.First would be border security. Which conservatives would support. Then would come amnesty. Which conservatives would fight and knock down.

“I will vote for McCain in the general and fight him tooth and claw on amnesty.”
Start by working to get every down ticket pro-amnesty politician thrown out of office just as McCain gets elected.

I don’t see that happening, he is very popular amoung the unthinking voters here. Romney did well against him because of the heavy Mormon Population, and those voting for Romney as a vote against McCain, but I believe he will get lots of those votes, those people aren’t going to vote for Comrade Obama.

Think about what you just wrote...
Have you ever traveled outside the US ???
Did you have to go to the US Embassy/Consulate in France, Japan whereever, in order to come home again ???
I never have and I’ve been out of the US a number of times ...
In the military and as a civilian...
WHY would Mexican citizens have to visit their OWN consulate in order to go home to Mexico ???
They didnt bother to visit a US Consulate in order to come here ???
(Strange but true)

And a surprisingly heated La Raza question-and-answer session revealed that McCain wasn't given lasting credit for his amnesty advocacy.Suprisingly? What is the suprise that a racist socialist pressure group prefers the amnesty plus driver's licenses for illegals which Obama proposes over the mere amnesty that McCain proposes?
The surprise is that, given La Raza's track records, there are still Republicans who are dumb enough to play this game.
To: Tennessee Nana
Nanna, I can see how you’d be skeptical but ask yourself this. If you left this country and entered another illegally and then wanted to return without the proper documentation, wouldn’t you have a hard time? Wouldn’t you appeal to your embassy or consolate? I mean maybe the illegals trying to get back into mexico are worried about going back through the same dangerous routes they used to get here. Maybe they are worried about how their government will recieve them.

You’re right about that. Several mayors in Mexican cities have been whining about their returning ‘immigrants’ and how they just can’t handle them, especially the criminal ones! Just like Mexico whines about everything. Just what we need a few million more whiners.
