Sounds like the Dad wrote a check with his mouth that his butt couldn’t cash. While I agree that the assault was unwarranted, the first order of business was to get his family to safety, not start an argument with the thugs. Trying to be a “hero” in front of his kid almost cost him his life.
You’re probably right, the numbers weren’t good for the dad unless he was armed. 230 gr lead in the form of a .451” projectile in the chest of one of the disaffected yutes and the rest would have scattered like rats.
You write: “Trying to be a hero in front of his kid almost cost him his life.”
Ya, better to let his 12 year old girl get molested and carry that with her for the rest of her life than risk your life for your kids, eh?
Man, it takes all kinds and you are some kind of ........

I dunno, say your 12 year old daughter has her behind grabbed by a pair of thugs, wouldn’t you yell at them to get their hands off her? The two then called their buds over and only then went after the father (this is usually how pack animals work anyway). I didn’t get the impression at all that dad was going after the two.
My only take on it is this guy was trying to be a protective father. That’s what good dads do.
So the proper thing for him to have done is to slink away, begging them to stop groping his little girl?
Maybe that's the answer for the "New Castrati", but thank God there are still some MEN out there who take the safety and honor of their families seriously.
This guy had a choice: to handle this situation on his feet...or on his knees. Either of his choices would have been remembered buy his daughter FOREVER.
Personally, I commend him for making the right choice. Now, besides mine, there is at least one more little girl out there who knows that her daddy will ALWAYS be there to protect her, no matter what.
I'd say that Dad cashed that check just fine.

Reloaded, if he needed to.
Disagree?
Don't dare.
So you're suggesting he should have never said a word about his 14 year old daughter being sexually assaulted?
If this is what you're suggesting, it would also seem you're suggesting the Dad should have known that saying anything to a group of black adults would lead to his attempted murder.
Is this what you're suggesting?
That father had every right to tell the punk to cut the crap, but what he should have done was crush the jerk's windpipe; takes 2 seconds, and then there would have been no cell phone call.
