*big fat snicker, snicker* Has McCain brushed up on his rap? He has never been down for the struggle? He has no slave blood.
So what is he going to promise all these folks?

(I had almost forgotten that McCain is the nominee. Too bad I was reminded.)

Wasted effort on McCain’s part. Maybe he thinks that making an appearance at the NAACP will endear him to the liberal white voters. He’s certainly not going to get more than a few tenths of a percent of black votes.

“McCain making play at NAACP for votes Obama should win”
Coupe of thoughts on this;
1. At least “The Race” isn’t the only hate froup that McFraud is pandering too. Is the KKK next?
2. Can you imagine the love that this man would be enjoying if he gave conservatives this kind of attention?

I disagree...if he doesn’t do this then they’ll jump on him for ignoring and making no effort for the black vote...and who knows- maybe there’s a percentage who feel the way jesse jack feels.....not that this will sway them but don’t leave any rock unturned...

The only issues McCain supports - and to a point of frenzy at that - are CFR and amnesty and those issues are unlikely to impress NAACP. I doubt he will win them over with his charm and charisma.

The last person who wasted this much energy on a hopeless outcome was Ricky Martin's girlfriend.
Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Maybe those on that ping list believe that there is a better candidate out there than McCain.

Yeah, he’s fostering the maverick image, but I don’t think it’s the black vote he’s trying to get.

this is a waste, doesn’t he know a hostile audience? He will lose 2 votes for each one he gets.

Maybe at some point before November McLame will buy a clue.I'm beginning to suspect that he's intentionally trying to throw this fight.Looks like the North Vietnamese accomplished exactly what they wanted with him way back when.

John McCain's pandering to the race hustler crowd on two fronts this week: to the La Raza racists and then to the NAACLP racists. He knows he won't win their votes so its a big mystery to me why he's even wasting time trying to court them.

I agree that it will be a largely hostile, but probably very polite audience. If they hoot McCain down, there could be some backlash that could hurt Obama in pivotal states. Beyond that, we all assume that Obama will be the Democratic nominee, but the convention is still a ways down the road and who knows what may yet come up. If Obama has to be sacked at the convention, the Black voters will be PO’ed to say the least, and might be induced to leave the Democratic plantation this election. Then there is the argument that in the end any president is everybody’s president, and a candidate ought to act like every vote is in play, even if it is not.
To: Brilliant
No - the suburban white moderate independents who like to see a Republican make a token outreach to black and hispanic leftists. Its nothing more than a PR stunt.

Blacks will sooner vote for the KKK than they will vote for ANY Republican. Not in this lifetime.

Its not. These people are to McCain's left. I don't see what he would gain there. Its not like the NAACLP is going to endorse a GOP presidential candidate.
