The people who think they are so responsible, would be in a soup line without others taking great risks to reorganize the world more rationally. Sometimes the succeed, and sometimes they fail. The clueless ungrateful "responsible" sort pocket their positive externalities and consider them their own doing. And moan and moan the rest of the time. They are clueless fools who have no idea how capitalism works, that's all.

In capitalism, the risk-takers take risks because of the potential gains, not because they can soak it off on others.

Capitalism where the risk-takers enjoy the gains, but The People absorb the losses is not Capitalism. It's called Fascism. And no, that's not hyperbole...it's the actual term for what you describe:

"...the State pays for the blunders of private enterprise... Profit is private and individual. Loss is public and social." --Gaetano Salvemini

No thanks. If you want to take risks and reap the rewards, be my guest--I'm all for it and I'll cheer for you, but don't come to me to cover your losses.

so? That’s how it’s supposed to work. People who save their money in responsible, secure investments won’t get rich quick, but they should do better over time.

People who take risks are necessary parts of the system and have the opportunity to get very rich very quickly, but they should live by the risk sword and die by it, too.

Right now we’re just bailing out all the risk-takers for their bad risks, and responsible people lose money. That’s insanity.
