Hot-on-the-heels of news that Darren Aronofsky may be directing MGM's Robocop reboot, the studio has announced plans to remake another '80s feature in the shape of Red Dawn.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Red Eye scribe Carl Ellsworth will pen the script, which will update the story to modern day.
"The tone is going to be very intense, very much keeping in mind the post-9/11 world that we're in," explains Ellsworth.
"As Red Dawn scared the heck out of people in 1984, we feel that the world is kind of already filled with a lot of paranoia and unease, so why not scare the hell out of people again?"

LOL!!
Bildebergers does sound like a mall store. That one on the second floor that's filled with knick-knacks nobody wants.
Yeah, I know that store. It changes hands every year or so, but it’s basically the same store over and over again.
BTW, since we seem to be the only ones here at the moment, it was hard to do, but I let 5 people read my story today. I got great feedback from everybody! All the changes have been minor (mostly correcting my plentiful typos) and it’s all done except the title!
That’s great news! :)
I would offer to help with the title, but I suck at titles :)
LOL! It’s no problem. I apparently suck at titles, too. ;-)
My friend and I were cracking up all afternoon thinking of them. Most are very unlady-like. The least “blue” one is, “My Butterfly Thinks You Are A Jerk, Too.”
Three of the five people asked me if the whole thing was true and two of them asked if she had a crush on me!
I just saw your tagline! LMAO!!
LOL!
How about "The Shrinking Butterfly" or "Stop Staring At My Butterfly, Crazy Lady!"
See, this isn't my strongsuit :)
I have no idea what you're talking about :)
LOL! It's okay, you've got plenty of others. :-)
My big idea was, "The Butterfly and the Crazy Lady," but it sounds like a 70's sitcom that involves a CB radio.
LMAO!!
LOL!! All you need is a drunk orangutan and you have a show!
That's who can play The Crazy Lady! Either that or I'm bringing back that Madam puppet.
(kidnapped the Lindbergh baby)
LMAO!! I had no idea you were such an outlaw!
:)
Like on "BJ & The Bear". The Bear was a chimp :)
Hmmm...who can we cast as The Butterfly? Oh! Martha Stewart!
Okay, that's the most offensive one yet! ;-)
If we’re talking about a 70’s show, there’s really only one choice: Lynda Carter :)
New Coke is my greatest shame :(
Yes. I’ll give you a co-executive producer credit for that one.
Impressive work! Now I see why you haven't had time to fulfill the conspiratorial required reading list. :-)
