The list of issues on which Barack Obama has flipped now that the primaries are over is long and growing rapidly:
# He says he believes in a Second Amendment right to bear arms.
# He now opposes late-term abortion.
# He suddenly is a devotee of using faith-based institutions to deliver public services.
# He now says that he wont raise Social Security taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 a year. In the primary, he said hed eliminate the threshold entirely, including on people making as little as $100,000.
# He recently opposed the Fairness Doctrine for talk radio.
# Now he says hes going to consult with the military before pulling out of Iraq.
But so extensive a list of flip-flops, all in the past few weeks, begs the basic question: Do we believe what he said when he was a liberal, or do we believe what he says now?
Even if Obama means what he is saying as he moves to the center trying to win the general election, the fact is that he will be forced to move very far to the left should he become president, forced by the liberals in his own party.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Situational ethics - how positively Democrat of him!
They call him “Flipper”, “Flipper”, flips faster than lightning. NO one, you see, can flip faster than he.
and we know Flipper, lives in a world he can’t under-,
stand, which is why he spews malarkey!
Come on Dick, no one believes what he's saying now. ...except perhaps the young and ultra-impressionable new to the political process. The Rat faithful know this faux-centrist dance all too well. ...and that he'd run back to the Left the second after winning.
Who says that Obama will get the nomination over Hillary at the Dems’ Denver convention?
...which will lead to an electoral slaughter of the Democretins in the midterm of 2010 (just for starters), while the new faces of the GOP warm up in the bullpen.
Only reason that Nixon, that jackass, didn't get away with it was that his principal advisors told him they'd resign outright if he proposed it formally...and he was already under the Watergate gun at that time.
Osamabama WILL have a go at suspending elections, IF he's elected -- take it to the bank.
What “liberal” Senators? Biden, Boxer Feinstein, Schumer, Kerry, Dodd, Feingold, Lautenberg, Durbin...They still live on!
I disagree. We're gonna see plenty of bipartisanship -more government from both parties. Obama is now the establishment.
I don’t know, if you read the liberal blogs, a lot of libs are wringing their hands in anguish, saying they’ll go McCain, stay home, vote only down ticket, or vote Nader.
(kind of like Free Republic, sad to say, except it’s about 75% of the libs as opposed to 10% of the FReepers).
I have been thinking that too. There could be some crisis that happens and thus for the first time in American history (I think, someone please correct me if I am wrong) elections are suspended it won’t matter if the GOP has an oppurtunity to reclaim Congress. I’m voting for McCain because I don’t want to see Obama win. Voting third party will just get Obama into the White House. I know that there are some who want to punish the GOP. Ok here’s the issues that are going to problems
Global Warming: Both McCain and Obama are going to enact some legislation further wrecking the economy. McCain seems to be the one who maybe will take his head out of his you know where and push for drilling in ANWR and offshore.
Immigration: No hope here with either candidate. There are too many entities who have a stake in having illegal immigration encouraged in this country.
Healthcare: Obama will push for what Canada has and well if the gov’t can run the schools well what makes people think healthcare will be run any better. McCain will stave off ruining healthcare.
Court Justices: Obama’s nominees you know where they are going to be and say goodbye to guns, the pledge of allegiance and probably parental rights. McCain will probably pick someone who won’t be too crazy (If Dems still control the Senate, he will probably have to nominate another Kennedy or O’Connor)
I really think that if Obama wins and the economy tanks he still will find a way to win in 2012 because the GOP probably still won’t have the balls to stand and fight!
George Prescott Bush...lol
It’s taken constant criticism to force him toward the center. He won’t have to be forced left, that’s where he is 24/7.
No evangelicals I know will vote for Obama.
A few traditionally Democrat voters in my family are planning to vote for McCain, however.
Next thing you know Obama will commit the unpardonable sin of telling the faithful that socialism doesn’t really work. That will be the last straw for the party bigshots.
That is practically the only issue Obama can't flip over and the issue that can lose the election for the Dems. Not even the Dem faithful like high gas prices. Only lib elitists are happy about four dollar a gallon gas. This is a big club Republicans can hammer the Dems with. Unfortunately McCain in practically the only Republican who is against drilling in ANWR. Any other GOP candidate would be hammering the Dems about this issue constantly. And getting a lot of average Dem voters to think hard about November.
Pet Peeve ,I dont know why all these pundits say The Left will force Obama to govern their way . WHAT THE HELL MAKES YOU THINK YOU WILL HAVE TO FORCE HIM WITH HIS PAST RECORD OF BEING A FREAKING COMMUNIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MORONS ARE ALL AROUND US IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS
If elected, one of Obama’s first actions will be to end “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and force the U. S. military to allow open homosexuals in the ranks.
This will create a protected category within the military. No matter how outrageous a personal action of an individual may be, it will be very difficult to do anything about it.
This will destroy the U. S. military, the finest armed force in the world and the protector of our nation.
