Whose idea was it to send John McCain down to Mexico the day before Independence Day and have him grovel for Latino votes south of the border by visiting the Basilica de Guadalupea famed Catholic shrine featuring the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which most Mexican politicians consider off-limits for campaigning?
According to Frentes Politicos (hat tip - reader Edgar M.), the stunt was the brainchild of none other than McCains open-borders Hispanic outreach director and former Mexican cabinet official Juan Hernandez, who apparently survived the big campaign staff shake-up:

Pretty much everything about you is faulty. From your arrogant “please read blah blah blah” to that gleaming white pedestal that every one can see but you. The snarky little frepmail you sent me last night didn’t raise my opinion of you either. Learn some manners and quit instructing more seasoned FReepers in what you consider proper etiquette. You’re not my mom or my teacher, or a moderator, You are in no position to even request that others read anything before commenting.
I'm enjoying your statement that you don't care, yet you cared enough to both make the accusation and to type a reply stating me you would not answer.
Im enjoying your high and mighty attitude.
What "high and mighty attitude"?
Now, theres some fun. Youve already seen that most folks here do not cotton to being preached at, given directions on how to post or talked down to, either; especially by a newbie.
I've noticed people don't agree with my request; and that's fine. But lack of agreement is not license to disrupt.
What I have observed is that those who want to discuss, do so, and can usually defend their positions logically, and those who do not want to discuss, divert.
But, keep digging, pal. This is a good looking hole youre constructing.
Who is digging?
“It’s a treat to beat your feet in the Mississippi mud.”
Ooh, those boots would destroy that “welcome mat”....oh, well.... C’est la guerre:o)
I'm a wild and crazy guy. Please observe that I refused to critique your "welcome mat" gambit. I DID stomp around with muddy shoes though. In fact, I'm gonna jump on yer bed with muddy shoes now.
Oh, yes. Congrats on getting the Italians right.
If you would come down to earth, I would explain the "Italians" reference.
That's a pretty broad brush from someone who doesn't know me, wouldn't you say?
From your arrogant please read blah blah blah to that gleaming white pedestal that every one can see but you.
Please explain how that request is arrogant, and point out exactly what I have said that points to that "gleaming white pedestal that every one can see but you."
The snarky little frepmail you sent me last night didnt raise my opinion of you either.
I have read previously on FreeRepublic that when you make reference to another member, whether publicly or privately, it is expected you include them. Since you protested about my request last night and I mentioned your name as one who had concerns about my request, I followed that courtesy. Is this courtesy no longer followed at Free Republic?
Learn some manners and quit instructing more seasoned FReepers in what you consider proper etiquette.
"Please" and "Thank you" are generally considered to be at thhe foundation of good manners. I have used both when making requests.
I do not hold to the opinion thast seasoned freepers are less prone to error on any subject than newbies; if I am in error, then show me by reason, logic and evidence, and I will apologize for my error and desist. If I have broken any rule of Free Republic, I encourage you to report me.
Youre not my mom or my teacher, or a moderator, You are in no position to even request that others read anything before commenting.
Isn't it poor manners to dictate whether or not someone is in a position to make a request?
Don-O, would you please explain the "Italians" reference?
You have us all beat in the “poor manners” department.
I have a hunch you won’t be around FR much longer.....
That’s nonsense and you are rude and insulting.
Also, don’t take your grievances with a poster to freepmail. That’s also rude and a no-no on Free Republic.
What “poor manners” have I displayed, KiloLima?
Not yet. You are not worthy.
Would you please be more specific, Jean S? What is nonsense and where have I been rude and insulting?
Also, dont take your grievances with a poster to freepmail. Thats also rude and a no-no on Free Republic.
If I understand you correctly, are you saying it is inappropriate on Free Republic to discuss private grievances privately via freepmail to avoid disrupting a thread? Pardon me if I have misunderstood you and this is not what you meant.
Well I give, your fabulous manners have won me over. How many Freepers have to point out that they aren’t impressed by your “please read the entire” Barbra Streisand before you discover that it’s off putting? Your email last night was nothing more than tattling. You don’t need to notify me when you whine to the mods that I’m not playing by YOUR rules.
“Please” and “Thank you” are generally considered to be at thhe foundation of good manners. I have used both when making requests.”
So if I say “Please stop telling me what to read and when I can comment, Thank you.” does that mean I have good manners?
What are some of your previous FR names???
The clock is ticking so I’ll say “Buh-bye” before it runs out.
A bit of advice - quit making demands of other posters as to what they are to read and how they are to reply. All you are doing is derailing your own threads, and it is not your perogative to make such demands.
As I have observed, some have claimed it was off putting to them; not everyone here has made such a claim, but I do not follow the demands of a collective, BruceysMom. I obey the posted rules and the dictates of my conscience.
Your email last night was nothing more than tattling. You dont need to notify me when you whine to the mods that Im not playing by YOUR rules.
The complaint in that Freepmail was not that you were not playing by my rules, it was the following question: "Is the following: Please read the post in its entirety before commenting. Thank you. in violation of any of the rules at Free Republic?"
To date, I have not been informed that this phrase is in violation of any rule at FreeRepublic.
Please and Thank you are generally considered to be at thhe foundation of good manners. I have used both when making requests.
So if I say Please stop telling me what to read and when I can comment, Thank you. does that mean I have good manners?
I would be more than happy to oblige your request, BruceysMom, considering that I have neither told you "what to read" or dictated "when [you] can comment."
As you wish, Admin Moderator.
I have none.
I just want to get the '100'.
