They had been bound and stabbed 243 times in an horrific attack and were already dead before the blaze started. Murder squad detectives are now waiting until he is in a fit state to be questioned so they can ascertain whether he is a genuine suspect in the inquiry. An unbelievably violent crime. This arrest is good news - I could not bear to think that the killer might get away with it.

But one must wait for confirmation that this suspect really is guilty. So far, no names, no explanation of a motive.

“So far, no names...”

Any bets on that to-date hidden nomenclature, BlackVeil?

Vegas is drooling at the odds, I’m thinking.

A heads-up on recent developments. Still very far from any sort of explanation for this case. But I am glad that the police seem to be getting somewhere.

The Mennonites aren’t nearly as dangerous as the Amish!

Yeah, but crossing the Atlantic is devilishly slow for the Amish.

A truly hideous crime.

Mick Duthie, a homicide detective with the Metropolitan Police, said everyone working on the case was "deeply shocked" by the extent of the injuries and that he had never seen anything like it in his career.

When a homicide detective says something like that - and in London too, where stabbings are common - it shows how bad it is.
