The Presidential Race: Graham soars as McCain’s wingman

WASHINGTON — If Andrew Jackson created the notion of a president’s “Kitchen Cabinet,” Sen. John McCain is reinventing it months before his possible election to the White House.

And Sen. Lindsey Graham seems to be McCain’s one-man Kitchen Cabinet.

Graham’s visibility as the Arizona senator’s closest political confidant has risen in recent weeks as the two men crisscross the country and travel abroad on McCain’s presidential quest.

I’m not here to argue the point. You may be right. I had thought enough Democrats would cross over to more than make up for the folks like myself that won’t be voting for him. There are several variables in this election that make it a real tough one to call IMO.

Lindsay Graham soars because he is light in the loafers.

He managed to go from a conservative hero in Clinton’s impeachment trial to a man calling those who opposed amnesty bigots.

"We're gonna tell the bigots to shut up..." -Sen. Lindsey Graham, SC (source)

Don't be a bigot. Vote Juan McCain! /sarc

Yep. Lindsey looked pretty good on the Clinton impeachment. Even Keith Olberman was singing a quite critical tune back then. They and others looked pretty good in those days. And then the big issue died, and the real lack of character shown through.

Too true AuntB. Ten years, and now look what we’ve put in the breach to fire off in November. The first boomerang projectile...

Sorry all but when November comes I’m seriously looking at voting for the Democrat when I see Graham’s name on the ballot. Tried to take him out in the primaries but it didn’t happen. I hate having to pretend it’s a Republican seat. We still have some conservative Dems in this state and I think one is running against Grahamnesty.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me,” he said. “We’ve got Secret Service protection now. It’s like traveling around with a circus.

McCain's campaign...a circus...LOLOLOL.

Well, now we know where Graham’s been hanging out.

'Republican by day...Democrat by night' It's been noted those are his own words.

Has our nation come to this abysmal mess? I am utterly disgusted with politics these days.

Vote Consitution Party.

That will fix everything. First of all, they'll never win ANYTHING. They don't even want to win. They'd rather hide behind their empty rhetoric and stand back and receive campaign contributions from gullible schmucks, like I was at one time.

This way they can pretend to be more pious and never have to prove it. They'll never have to govern and open themselves up to scrutiny.

These crooks take the hopes and dreams of those who actually believe that those in the CP will improve this nation.

During the 2000 and 2004 elections they had the audacity to run radio ads against Bush--not Gore or Kerry. My eyes were opened then. There is no way they convinced me that Bush was more dangerous than Gore or Kerry.

It is the CP that is dangerous.

They’re smarter over there then most Republicans here. I would have voted for Charles Manson over Graham. Sorry I voted for him the first time.

This would be a vote to keep Democrats in control in the Senate. Never, never, never!!!
