Stick it to Code Pink! Freepers, Eagles, Mothers to Freep CP HQ, Wed. 7/09/08
Monday, July 7, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 07/07/2008 10:22:48 AM PDT by kristinn

The D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com invites all Freepers and lurkers in good standing, as well as veterans and their families, to join us as we stand with our FRiends the Gathering of Eagles and Band of Mothers against the pro-terrorist group Code Pink this Wednesday evening in Washington, D.C.

Code Pink leader Medea Benjamin attacked Vietnam veterans last week in an interview with the Politico published last week:

"I wouldn't characterize anybody who fought in Vietnam as a war hero," said Medea Benjamin, a co-founder of the theatrical anti-war group Code Pink. "In 23 bombing sorties, there must have been civilians that were killed and there's no heroism to that."

"Anyone who can't look back and admit how wrong it was to be in Vietnam and be killing civilians deserves to be challenged," she said...

On the Fourth of July, Code Pink disrupted a citizenship ceremony at Monticello led by President Bush. One of their members rushed the stage, getting close enough to the President to cause concerns about his safety.

We'll gather outside of Code Pink's Washington, D.C. headquarters as they hold an open house potluck dinner.

When: 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008.

Where: 712 5th St., NE, Washington, D.C.

Bring: American and service flags, signs bearing messages of support for our troops and messages about Code Pink's support for our Nation's enemies. Please, no bullhorns or airhorns.

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

P.S. David Swanson of After Downing Street was kind to post Code Pink's Capitol Hill schedule for the next few days:

I’d be there again with you if I was visiting Northern Virginia from Hopewell. Best to all.

How interesting! Is the caf open to the public or do these cows have their own ID badges by now?

Does the Senate Foreign Relations committee get a copy of their itinerary for the week? There should be no excuse for demonstrations of vulgarity during the proceedings.

These women are possessed!!!!!

There lucky I don’t live anywhere near there. I’d crash their open house and pi$$ and $hit in their pot luck dinner.

I'm sure you would.

The cafeterias are open to the public.

Code Pink operates with the blessing of the Democratic leadership in both houses of Congress. They don't need no stinking passes!

Sorry I wasn’t able to get to this thread yesterday. My “New Posts to Me” are looking like a cluster foxtrot with the multitudes of huge graphics. I didn’t see your ping until Mrs Trooprally called and mentioned it to me a few minutes ago. I was also busy buying a new washing machine, stove, and dish washer last night.

Bump.

Wish I could be there. For now, a prayer for tonight:

Lord God, You are King and Lord. You reign Supreme over all our circumstances. We adore You. Bow before You and seek Your will alone for our lives.

You came to set the captives free. Your ultimate objective is always restoration of all who will come back to You. You created each of us with free will, to live in dignity and the freedom to have choices in how we live our lives. You purposed this nation to be founded on Your principles. You have blessed us in response and made us to stand up to oppression of all kinds to help set other captives free.

Lord God, we are not perfect as a nation or a people. Not all who fight the wars set before us fight with the right motives. But we know that freedom is not free and has never been free and where oppression seeks to overtake ground, a stand must be made and sometimes this requires military action. Lord God, we believe that the fight fought by our troops today must be fought. They fight there so the battle does not come here. Lord God, You know this! Our troops need to fight to victory!

We thank you for each and every FReeper, each and every other patriot and patriot organization who stands behind our troops here at home so that they can fight the fight there.

This week Bev Perlson is back in D.C. standing for our troops. With her are many FReepers, GOE members and other patriots. We ask Your blessing on each and every one of them. Give them divine appointments and encounters which have as an effect an increase in the support our troops have from the public and the government. Give them the strength to stand and the words to say. Cause the public, i.e., tourists to be drawn to them and take the idea of supporting our troops back to their respective communities. By Your grace, by Your power, cause what they do these three days to have a greater effect than can be seen. Bless each of those who stands up financially so they can continue to stand up for our troops.

We also ask your blessing on the Action in front of Code Pink headquarters tonight. Lord God, again cause there to be visibility by those who will spread the message to get behind our troops (or in front of them). Let those who support our troops continue to operate with dignity and decorum which honors You and sets them apart from others who protest with hate and childish actions.

We trust that You will enable these actions to run perfectly according to Your plan. And especially when it feels we are like Joshua and his army walking around Jericho with seemingly no effect, we choose to trust in You that at the proper moment, in response to our obedience, You will bring the walls of the structure down which sets itself up against You and our troops and the principles for which they stand, so that it can be rebuilt on the right foundation.

Thank you again for each and every FReeper, each and every other patriot. Do bless them richly with joy, inner peace, confidence in You, health, provision ,protection and safe passage to and from actions. In Jesus’ name, Amen

DC Chapter ping!

Today's the day, folks.

For those of you on the list who read all the pings but haven't yet joined us on a Freep - this could be a really fun one, taking the protest to the Code Pinkos' flophouse on "potluck dinner night."

You know how much I want to make this—but it’s just too far for me to get there. Glad to see that you are there, Takoma. Enjoy it—and know I’m there in spirit, and will be waiting to see your report.
