The Catholic Bishops make it very clear in Faithful Citizenship that not all issues facing Americans today are of equal value. In section 37 of their document they write: In making decisions, it is essential for Catholics to be guided by a well-formed conscience that recognizes that all issues do not carry the same moral weight, and they specifically emphasize the special claim on our consciences and actions of the moral obligation to oppose intrinsically evil acts. Section 42 is particularly striking:
As Catholics, we are not single-issue voters. A candidates position on a single issue is not sufficient grounds for a voters support. Yet a candidates position on a single issue that involves an intrinsic evil such as support for legal abortion or racism may legitimately lead a voter to disqualify a candidate from receiving support.
Most of my readers will instantly recognize that, on this reckoning, Barack Obama is definitely a supporter of an intrinsic evil: the legalized killing of unborn children.

he said he was on a ship passing through the Suez Canal then over to the straits of Horuz and in 1981....they were there for a while and were going to be relieved by another US ship....it was just before Reagan was about to take over...he said all of a sudden a call came over the radio just days before Reagan was set to be President; the hostages had been released and they should ship back to Italy....
I have become pretty close to my parish priest and I think he feels comfortable enough to chat with me informally on politics.
He liked Dunkin Hunter and Mike Huckabee.
He is a bit disappointed in the choices we have but given the choices, he knows which one is the greater evil.
Even a moderate Republican would not vote to declare his fellow POW/MIAs dead in spite of much evidence, including aerial photos of the rescue code spelled out in rocks, to the contrary. Even a moderate Republican would not be utterly rude to wives of POW/MIAs. And even a moderate Republican would not, allegedly, make a profit off the men he purposely left to die at the bloody hands of the Communist VNs. How could you vote FOR him?
Just saying.

Put another way; should a normal, healthy pregnancy be terminated? No. Democrats lead the word game, the media echo’s them, and it kills babies. They will use ‘safe, legal, rare’ as a mantra, but not one can defend terminating a normal, healthy babies’ life. Our terms are just, and would allow an option for a real medical emergency.

McCain is anti-abortion. I really don’t think he will move on the stem cell research issue at all.

Most of the pro life folks here are well informed on the issue.
With the new procedures and discoveries of pluripotent stem cells there is no need for the use of embryonic stem cell research.
Besides the fact that there are over 70 clinical uses of adult stem cells while there are none for embryonic stem cells.
mountainbunny must be a Obama supporter if she wants to stay home and not vote. That’s a sure fire way to get him elected.
3,000 schedule C appointees, providing for the common defense of this nation and appointments to the Federal Bench are only three reasons why McCain is far superior to that Commie, pro-infanticide, racist, POS Obama.
Plus, have you seen the threads that coleus has posted about adult stem cells?
All the cures that have occurred have been because of adult stem cells; none at all from embryonic stem cells.
There’s a message from God in those facts!!!
I do think that McCain will change on this issue.
Ever hear of Margaret Sanger?
So you disagree with the teaching of the Church that the state has the right to impose capital punishment, right?
Doesn't jibe with what actually happened.
Do you realize McCain has two sons serving in Iraqi in the Marine Corp(sic) ?
If you're going to point the finger at someone else make sure all your i's are dotted and your t's are crossed. McCain has one son, Jimmy, who is a United States Marine who returned to the States from Iraq in February. McCain has a second son, Jack, who is a Midshipman at the Naval Academy, Class of 2009.
I'm quite familiar with Sanger. The article uses the word "racism" -- not eugenics. One doesn't necessarily follow from the other.
