400 members of Rainbow Family surround, attack federal officers

National Forest Service officials, surrounded and attacked yesterday in Wyoming with sticks and stones by 400 members of the Rainbow Family, were given reason to regret their decision to cancel a long-planned national service project by the Boy Scouts of America in favor of the unorganized annual gathering of hippies, anarchists and "free spirits" who commune with nature and each other.

According to a statement released by the Forest Service's Incident Command Team in Rock Springs, Wyo., officers patrolling the main meadow of the seven-day event held near Sandy Springs made contact with a man who fled and was later apprehended. A second Rainbow attendee was detained for interfering in the arrest.

As 10 officers began to leave the area with their suspects, they were surrounded by an estimated 400 members of the Rainbow Family. A request for additional officers was made.

"The mob began to advance, throwing sticks and rocks at the officers. Crowd-control tactics were used to keep moving through the group of Rainbows," the news release said.

When back-up support arrived, officers made five arrests. A government vehicle was damaged and one officer was treated for injuries at a local hospital and released.

"This lawless behavior is unacceptable and we will not tolerate it," said John Twiss, Forest Service director of law enforcement. "The safety of our employees, public and Rainbow participants is our number one priority, and we will continue to protect everyone on the national forest."

"It's a matter of intimidation," Sublette, Wyo., County commissioner Joel Bousman told WND. "It appears the Rainbow group has managed to intimidate an entire federal agency."

Yep. Appeasing socialists only empowers them.

Rainbow Family of Living Light, also known as The Rainbow Family, are a loosely affiliated group of individuals committed to principles of non-violence and non-hierarchical egalitarianism.

Dang, didn't they read the charter?

(The Rainbow Family, are a loosely affiliated group of individuals committed to principles of non-violence and non-hierarchical egalitarianism.)

Think on this; most self declared leftist pacifist movements since the hippies of the 1960’s have been marked by violence and anarchy and self indulgent destructive life styles both for others and themselves. And so it is today.
The Word of the Lord Jesus Christ exposes us for what we are.

1. Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?
2. Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.
3. The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.
4. Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;
5. Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.
6. Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Lord.

3. The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

If the U.S. Forest Service is getting pushed around by hippies, there's only one thing left to do. Call Eric Cartman.

I have seen first hand what these “naturists” do to the landscape. We ran across them in NC once by accident. Trashed does not start to describe the scene.

you have to read to the bottom of the article to get to the real gems:

Following yesterday's melee, members of the gathering told the Star-Tribune a far different story than that told by the Forest Service. "They were so violent, like dogs," camper Robert Parker said after the incident. "People yelled at them, 'You're shooting children.'" Rainbow members claimed they were Tasered, hit with rubber bullets and pepper spray balls, and had guns pointed at them. "These people deliberately, for hours, were aggressively working the camp over and working the people over," a Rainbow who gave his name only as Ryan said. "They chose the kiddie village – the one place, the kids, to take their stand and create a riot, and I bought into it. ... They were looking for an excuse to do some damage to us." Ryan's partner, Feather, said she was pepper-sprayed, and saw another Rainbow member with welts all over his body. Today, the American Civil Liberties Union announced plans to investigate how federal law enforcement treated those attending the gathering. Linda Burt, executive director of the ACLU in Wyoming, said her organization would accept collect calls from Rainbow Family members for the next two weeks to gather information.

And the reason Mark Rey decided this group doesn’t need permits like everyone else?

Law abiding citizens are really gonna pay for this one, and I don’t mean cash. There will be regulations handed down that will ruin good people enjoying themselves in the parks. Yeah, those law abiding people will be sorry for this mess.

*** From, "Die Hippie Die" ***

Cool clip.

It reminds me of what I did back in 1968 to the hippies trying to block Michigan Ave at Balboa Drive (Grant park) in Chicago. One of Chicago's finest told me (hell he screamed) to "go" so I did, right through the hippies.

Cars were cars then. My '62 Chevy Belair didn't get a scratch let alone a dent.

LOL. Good story. That’s my favorite episode of South Park. “I’ve been ridding this town of hippies on my own since I was 5 and 1/2” makes me laugh every time.

One of Chicago's finest told me (hell he screamed) to "go" so I did, right through the hippies.

Reminds me of the Philly riots in 2000...a helicopter was showing gangs of thugs stopping cars and beating any whitey...one guy decided he didn't want any part of it and used his 3000 pound bludgeon to teach thugs a lesson in physics. It was, frankly, classic. Thug marches into street, presumably orders driver to stop...driver decides to apply an extra few foot-pounds to his right foot...thug 1 goes on hood, up and over car...thug 2 through 10 start diving off but still catch a little bumper.

I had a run-in years ago with a few big guys who were shaking down people in a parking lot. They walked out in front, stopped the car and hassled the occupant. I saw this as I was going to my car. I said to my friends...this guy walks in front, I hit him. I had a loud hooptie muffler at the time(mid 80s)...soon as I saw this animal walking out...I stomped it and he rolled down the side of the car and tried to hit my window. I'm guessing that's the last time he ever did that.

I have instructed my wife any anyone who will listen...if you feel threatened...just drive away. Don't go nuts...just drive away. Hit cars, people, whatever just drive away. Even if you damage the engine, chances are the car will get you to safety before it dies.

I see many folks are posting comments that if used by others... may get them into a lot of trouble.

What is the rule here? If someone gets in front of the road... and they are NOT law enforcement officers... they are demanding that you stop... and they are intimidating and scary looking... can you go through them without being hauled off to jail or being sued?

I'm thinking... "I'm scared, I do not want to stop and become a victim since that person isn't a law enforcement officer"... will that play for the DA?
