Muslims Want Attention From Candidates

DETROIT, July 5 (UPI) -- Muslims in the Detroit area are upset that neither of the presumptive major party presidential nominees has made an effort to reach out to them.

The area has one of the largest and most visible Muslim communities in the United States. In recent campaigns, candidates have addressed meetings or met with local religious leaders, The Detroit News reports.

"Any candidate should address the issues of American society, not a particular religion," said Dr. Abdul Raheman Nakadar, a retired cardiologist who publishes The Muslim Observer. "But when you ask a certain group for support, then you must. I would have expected both of them to reach out."

Michael Fauntroy, a professor of public policy at George Mason University, suggested that Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain have different reasons for avoiding Muslims. Obama has been plagued by rumors that he is Muslim, while McCain -- because of his support of President George W. Bush's Iraq policy -- may not expect much Muslim support, political analysts say.

Activists say they are having a hard time this year convincing Muslims to vote.

"McCain and Obama are not saying anything about Muslims and Arab Americans, and we are being discriminated against every day," said Jana Musleh, 18, of Westland.

I knew this had to come from either The Onion or UPI.

Muslims Want Attention From Candidates

How about we care as soon as all those "moderate muslims" start speaking out against the violence their religion generates.

Why don't those folks talk to Obama about that. He said if the winds turn that he would stand with them. They should take him up on it.

reach out to them

Just be patient, muzzl'ems. It will happen right after they reach out to muggers. You have to wait your turn.

What are these people, nuts? If McCain went to kowtow to them (excuse me, chat with them), he would be finished. If Obama went to kowtow to them, he'd be worse than finished. He'd be tarred and feathered and ridden out of Dearborn on a rail.

A better idea would be for the whiney Muslims to take a hard look at why it is that nobody wants to play in their sandbox any more. Once they figure that out, then they can consider what THEY need to do about it.

Hmmmm. Let’s see.

Scene 1: McCain goes to Dearborn and delivers his rousing stump speech (including the part where he says: “We must continue to address the defining issue of our time — the problem of radical Islamic terrorism!”)

Scene 2: Baraq goes to Dearborn and is grinning from ear to ear while being backslapped by a half-dozen snaggle-toothed Omars and Salamis in beards and sunglasses, thus earning himself yet another poster-shot for the (other) campaign.

Yeah, those scenes are gonna happen... /sarc

Anyway, what does it matter? Everybody already knows those sorry bastards are going to 99% vote for their brother of the clothrag.

Yeah, I know. That has to be tough to deal with. Simple solution. Go to a better country. How much do you need for your one-way plane ticket? And how many relatives and friends will you need to take along with you? Let me know ASAP so I can try to help you out!

Islam is. in the main, a political system with Sharia law, capable of governing, after its own historically unique fashion, the planet and the micromanaged daily lives of everyone, especially in the eyes and mind of a Muslim. Our election involves OUR political system, not theirs. They have no right in OUR country to compel anyone to pay attention to their political system and its supporting religion, and, so, they have an institution for dealing with this situation called....JIHAD. THey have every right as citizens and the responsibility to comply with our rules of law and support them patriotically...there is the rub. We deal with it daily, and, should eschew all Islamic desires not related to our Western culture and traditions. Institutionalized ‘multiculturalism’ in lieu of cultural assimilation will be the end of us, and has been a big mistake in the West. Other countries have made the mistake of ‘accomodating’ demands for Sharia...it is in the news every day. Turkey, right now, is attempting to fight it off once again, as the Islamic govt. of Erdogan is making too much progress in implementing Sharia law.

I know for a fact that in 2000 there was a "Muslims for Bush" group.

The evidence against that sob, Obama, is overwhelming:

McCain will be by to lick their dirty boots before November; you can bet on it.

Obama won’t want to be associated with muslims until after he wins the election.
Then he will take good care of them.
We will have muslims watching porn in the Lincoln bedroom and black racists giving “Damn America” speeches at state dinners while Michelle tells everyone how bad America is.
