Ask Sasha how she sees herself and she replies: ‘Blonde, pretty, dumb - I don’t need brains.’ Her mum laughs her head off at this, proud that the child is so like her.

Sasha might not have won, but Jayne [her mom] loved the process, describing it as 'the best fun ever'. 'It was just fantastic,' she says. 'What you see in U.S. pageants really is what you get. It's weird, but brilliant. They take it so seriously, which can only be good for someone like Sasha. No Jayne, it's not about Sasha. It's about you. Always has been.

How sad... This child is not pretty just made up... fake looking.
Always wonder why adults try to live vicariously through their children... pathetic!!

Not to be picky but..... Yer 300 pounds sterling is about 600 dollars per month.
Liberal spouse was summoned from her television movie over to the computer by me.
Looks like Jon Benet Ramsey, quoth she. A school teacher retired of special education needs children, she said all girls of that age need is a haircut once in awhile.
We finally agree.

Jayne takes Sasha to a major agency, in the hope that she will be signed up. The model booker says a vehement 'no', horrified by her portfolio, and tells Jayne that clients want their child models to look like children, and that for this sort of career success she would have to stop bleaching Sasha's hair and encouraging her to wear plastic nails. Jayne refuses to comply.

Gawd, she looks terrible.
I was going to say: "Where's dad?" but there he is in the article being a spineless, walking ATM machine for those two.
Ask Sasha how she sees herself and she replies: 'Blonde, pretty, dumb - I don't need brains.'
Well Sasha, first of all you're not that pretty. And when your looks start going south with age WTF are you going to do then?
To: Oyarsa
[Jayne's] response to the pageant pictures of Sasha - looking shocking with deep red lips and heavily smoked eyes - probably says more about her than her daughter. "The pictures are amazing, and Sasha is such a lucky girl to have them. I'd love to have those sort of pictures, nice pictures, rather than ones you hide away because you can't bear to look at them." Which are the ones you hide, Jayne? The makeup-less Sasha? The natural Sasha? The ones where she's, gasp, just being a little girl? Oh, the horror.
Jayne is doing her best to transfer her own (serious) mental disorders to her daughter. ...and I have no doubt she'll succeed.

I read the whole thing and am even MORE horrified. Parents should have the freedom to raise their children however they want within reason, and I suppose this girl is safe from harm, but WHAT ARE THEY TEACHING HER? That being a tarty little showboat is important in life? Pretty sad. I am appalled that she is in a low-rider skirt there, showing parts of her body that should be protected under Cinderella panties. Girls mature fast enough; why push it?
