Good job.
It's sort of a lower middle class environ with some nice lake areas close by too. Wiggahs is my guess.
Once again a gun thwarts a crime.
score one for the good guys.
Since the Supreme court ruled it seems as if being a robber/thief has become an unhealthy profession to be in.
If some of you thugs are reading this - take heed. You attempt the crime, expect to get your $ss blown to pieces.
“The assistant manager has a carry permit, according to police.”
This gutsy gentleman not only prevented a robbery, but could just as easily have prevented the murder of every patron in the store.
The bad news: He's out of a job.
Yeah, that old presumption of innoncence thing gets tiresome. After all, the point is to punish someone, not find the real criminal. Nobody innocent has ever been accused. Never has a person shot another and then falsely claimed self-defense!

I hope that justice is served...too often, it’s not. :-(
Good news!
Sorry, a thug sticking up a store is nothing but a “robber” — PC be damned. You must be an attorney.
Yeah, that old presumption of innoncence thing gets tiresome.
+++++++++++++++
Now, don’t jump the gun here. I’m sure the one young gentleman was showing the gun in an offer to sell it. It’s very likely that he had no intention of anything else. /s

If so...it’s not worth it after all. Good for the Manager. He saved lives that day. THAT’S what is GOOD about guns!!!
Pretty soon someone will post a comment that a hamburger isn’t worth a human life! I think this manager needs to be given a medal and further marksmanship training or a larger caliber piece.
And if he hadn't?
I guess that ole 2nd amendment would have said otherwise.
I’ll bet the gunman held it sideways like in the rap videos
Was it really a robbery or were they just tired of waiting on their food?
Sonic food is slow and cold
Then start your own newspaper and fund your own defense.
You must be an attorney.
What a nasty accusation! Most certainly, I am not!
I trust wardaddy's description of the situation, and his acquaintance with the owner involved, but I don't think we want to base our justice system on hearsay and personal relationships.
I'm assuming you're not ignorant of such cases as the teacher Greg Abbott, who was arrested for having drugs and a gun, based on an anonymous call. Fortunately for him, he wasn't presumed guilty, as his estranged wife and her male acquaintance are now behind bars.
Then there is the case not so long ago (that was an example of something not uncommon), where a business owner (gas station) shot a guy who came in, and claimed self-defense. He might have gotten away with the murder, had he simply arranged a time for his victim to come over, but he made the mistake of calling the victim and asking him to come over--thus revealing that his story was false and it was not a robbery.
But that's for others. For you, I'll remember that if you're ever accused, you'll want the government to punish you immediately.
Let's hope Sonic doesn't call for his head like 7-eleven would.
I agree. I’d hire the guy in a second.
