A grand jury investigating abortion provider George Tiller adjourned Wednesday afternoon without issuing a criminal indictment.
Retired Sedgwick County District Judge Paul Buchanan, assigned to preside over the grand jury, said the panel returned a finding of no true bill, meaning criminal charges would not be filed.
The grand jury was convened in January through a petition drive by anti-abortion groups seeking an investigation into whether Tiller violated state abortion laws.

The fix was in.
God will bring judgment to this man someday....
God might not have to wait if some mere mortal ponders that old saying about “justice delayed, is justice denied”.
Of course it was.
In most instances when a “no-true bill” is the result of a grand jury investigation, the prosecutor wasn’t wanting one in the first instance. I have been the prosecutor in over 150 grand jury sessions and very rarely failed to get an indictment when I wanted one.
What a shame you weren’t leading the way in this most recent Tiller travesty, it might have turned out differently.
Surely the government of Kansas is going to pay the legal bills of this outstanding citizen. Maybe they’ll now present him with the Distinguished Order of Kansas and the governor will fete him at her mansion. (Ooops, forgot that she already did that!)
“Well, Tiller may have walked again but I’m sure he’s had a hefty legal bill out of this. Maybe we can drive him into bankruptcy.”
Good old ACLU tactics. Abuse the legal system to punish enemies financially. Nice.
No. He's on his own.
Maybe theyll now present him with the Distinguished Order of Kansas...
No such thing.
Well to be fair, Tiller is actually under indictment on charges that have stuck and are slowly moving towards trial. But those were filed by our disgraced former AG Paul Morrison, so the pro-Kline faction don't like to talk about them.
Ping!
Tiller will get what’s coming to him. Hopefully sooner than later.
Probably. Try as he might Tiller hasn't been able to get the charges against him dropped. His lawyers have been attempting to get it into federal court but have been unsuccessful. Eventually they'll run out of delays and the matter will go to trial. If convicted on all counts and sentenced to the max then he could go away for 15 years or more.
This is the second grand jury seated by petition to find that there were no grounds for bringing charges against Tiller. I understand that the law allowing that is under review and will probably be tightened up.
Better to pray for a united Kansas GOP legislature who will tighten up the laws and a new governor who won’t veto them.
Yeah, that’s a surprise... not. He sure has a lot of powerful friends in Kansas.
A decent prosecutor can get an indictment of a balogna sandwich. Of course, the prosecutor has to be actually interested in getting an indictment. We all know that the prosecutor in this case was hand picked by Kitty Kat Sebellius, and both are in Tiller’s pocket.
