Obama adviser links gas prices to Bush war policies By Jordan Fabian Posted: 07/02/08 01:28 PM [ET] An informal foreign policy adviser to Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) on Wednesday linked high oil prices to threats the Bush administration has made against Iran.
Rand Beers, an adviser to 2004 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry (Mass.), said a one-day $11-per-barrel spike in the price of oil was a response to potential military action threatened against Iran.
Americans need to understand that what is happening in the Persian Gulf is significantly contributing to the rising price of oil, said Beers, who serves as president of the National Security Network, which has criticized U.S. involvement in Iraq.
Beers also blamed the Iraq war for increased oil prices, noting that there has been a sevenfold increase in the price of oil since the Iraq war began.

I thought it was Hillary who said that.
Obama said he would crawl under his bed and cry about why he isn't having fun anymore.
Yup, an when Obama is the president and Iraq belongs to Iran, the Persian Gulf will be close off by Iran and no more oil at all will get through..
WWWIII on the horizon.
So in other words, Obama asserts that we should not have invaded Iraq because of oil. First off, I thought the war was for oil, where is it then? Secondly, isn’t this a tacit admission that dependence on foreign oil can influence our foreign policy. According to Barak O, Saddam could hold the U.S. ransom because of oil.
Well then, I have a solution, drill here, drill now.
That’s like Obama saying he won’t talk about another candidate’s patriotism so don’t question his. He is unpatriotic and it should be shouted loudly.
Look at the price increases from late 2000 to late 2006 and again from late 2006 to today. The percentage is much higher since the liberals took over Congress in 2006. This one is on them. The dims even promised (and failed to keep this promise that many idiot voters believed when voting from them) to bring gas prices down. Best solution to this problem is to vote them out of office in November.
'Rand Beers'Whose real first name is Random. He was named that in memory of how he was conceived one stormy night in the parking lot of a 7-11.
He has two younger brothers, one named Free the other Cold, and a younger sister named Alotta.
One of my co-workers told me the reason the price is going up is Bush’s fault; he wants it to go up, since he owns stock in oil companies. I later sent her an e-mail detailing the cost of gas in other countries, where it costs much more than here, and I never got an answer back.
Libs hate facts.
The flooding of paper money is really ridiculous. If it’s not kept in line with the actual value of the current economy, of course each extra dollar printed will be worth less. I would think that is pretty basic and logical. No?
I guess we can’t imagine what it’s like being in that forest of idiots known as government, each trying to stand out. From out here, it’s just a forest of idiots, some taller than others.
Sound money makes perfect logical sense... which is why government must do everything in it’s power to do the opposite.
I’m sorry but the American people are right to be blaming the anti drilling democrats in Congress and I hope they keep at through the election. I would love to see John Kerry unemployed!
Rand Beers had a few to many beers?......
