Clark Finds a Home Among Obama Advisors (updated)
Ed Lasky
On Sunday, Wes Clark, who had been on Hillary Clinton's campaign list of advisers, seems to have adroitly switched sides to support Barack Obama and did so in a very maladroit way. He impugned the character of John McCain and his war-record on Meet The Press Sunday.
He insulted McCain by saying that "I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to become president."
But this is far from the first time Clark has insulted people in a very crude way. Last year, for example, he engaged in conspiracy mongering by alluding to "New York money people" pushing America into a war against Iran . In case anyone missed the import of his meaning , he clarified his remarks by absolving a part of the Jewish community. He said that the Jewish community was divided on Iran but then said there is so "much pressure being channeled from New York money people to the office seekers" that politicians may feel compelled to support war against Iran.
He will fit right in with the likes of probable future foreign policy guru Samantha Power who inferred that criticism of Barack Obama comes down to "what is good for the Jews" and who warned about "domestic interest groups with vast financial power influencing foreign policy).
Also, Meriill "Tony" McPeak, the vice chair of Senator Obama's campaign and his chief military adviser who blamed problems in the Middle East on the influence of people who live in New York City and Miami whom no "politician wants to run against" and who exercise undue influence on foreign affairs in America. Then there's George Soros-an early fundraiser who can tap an empire of 527 groups to help Barack Obama and who has negative views of American lobbying groups that support the American-Israel relationship. And Zbigniew Brzezinski (a supporter of the Stephen Walt/ John Mearsheimer view of American Jews exercising undue influence in America - a view called "anti-Semitic" in the Washington Post and a host of others close to Barack Obama who have expressed anti-Israel opinions (Pastor Jeremiah Wright, among them). Also lest we forget, Wes Clark, like so many closely associated with Barack Obama, has been a beneficiary of money from George Soros. Right after receiving large chunk of change from Soros, Wes Clark again let loose a broadside against American support for Israel in its battle with Hezbollah, calling it "a serious mistake".
He will find a comfortable home among Barack Obama's team of advisers.
Updated -- Ralph Alter adds:
Much talk revolves around Barack Obamas lack of experience combined with his vacuous rhetorical flourishes. He is often described as an empty suit. His acolytes arent much more inspiring.
Among the least inspiring is retired General Wesley Clark. Many would suggest that statement be amended to forced into retirement Wesley Clark. He is a handsome and intelligent man, in an Oxford sort of way -- the kind of intelligence that is often combined with a lack of common sense: in the phrase book smart. He was severely wounded in Vietnam, and deserves respect for serving his country. But as a national leader he is inadequate.
Clark might pass as emincence grise for the Obama campaign were he not so enamored of the spotlight. Clark seldom passes up the opportunity to speak in front of a camera, frequently to his detriment.
Is it any wonder the Clinton administrations military record was so pitiful with men like Clark in command positions? Some Eastern Europeans believe Clark to be a war criminal for his bombing of Serbian civilians during Clintons only serious military engagement during his two terms in office. While Clark claims that Senator McCain hasnt been (in command position) and ordered the bombs to fall, any 3rd rate military commander can order the bombs to fall on civilian communities as Clark did in the Kosovo Conflict.
The Democrats remain hopelessly out of touch in matters military. This tactic of enlisting embittered or failed ex-military men to spout their pacifistic or defeatist positions doesnt resonate any further down the political spectrum than at the offices of Code Pink or the Daily Kos. I suppose Democrat stategists believe that the average American, seeing a man in uniform spouting this poppycock will be more likely to believe it. Or at least they will believe that the military is divided about its objectives. Nothing could be further from the truth.
John Kerry's "reporting for duty" didn't fool anybody and the empty uniform that is Wesley Clark doesn't either. Clark is the military equivalent of the Peter Principle: he rose in rank beyond his ability to perform his duties. He was finally sent out to pasture where his bloviation does nothing more than add to the earth's supply of methane gas.

Ashley Wilkes Clark. Doesn’t get much lower than that. Not many in the military can say they were removed from command by anti-military Bill Clinton.

Clark is a political lackey and hack. He is disabusing McCain and his qualifications over the EXACT same issues he recommended Kerry for in his 2006 Democratic Convention speech for. Now, due entirely to political expediency and brown nosing, which it appears Clark's own carreer was a lot about, he has taken the exact opposite stance.
Well, it's about time people talked straight about this. Dole said a lot about Clark that should be said, but I'll go one further. not only is Clark an absolute politcal lackey and hatchet man, who has used his own service for completely self serving and political ends, we have in Obama the furthest thing from the traditional meaning of a patriot.
He has shown by his own positions and his own willful associations of many years that he is an anti-American militant and an abject marxist. Neither of those could ever qualify him to be referred to as a patriot, I will never lessen the meaning of that word, or subject the absolute selfless service and sacrifice of real patriots by equating the likes of Obama to them.

Wesley Clark = poster boy for American military traitor. He should be jail, along with all the corrupt Clinton mafia gang.
Now he’s out there supposedly “helping” Obama. This guy owes the Clintons EVERYTHING. There is no doubt here that Clark continues to work for the Heinous one - while pretending to “help” Obama - as he did with these comments / not.
Love the stupidity that Obama has displayed in putting Weasley out there for him.
(Per the rest of this post - of course the Demonrats HATE Jews, they HATE Isreal, they HATE God, and they deeply believe the anti-Jewish diatribes put forth by the likes of Obama’s main man - Jeremiah Wright’s “man of the year” Farakhan....)....no matter WHAT they say.)
Any Jewish person / Israeli citizen who supports Obama or ANY Democrat has a death wish.

This guy owes the Clintons EVERYTHING. He is a backstabber. I can't imagine any politician, including Obama, doesn't know that, or would empower him in any significant way. He can't be trusted. In the end the joke is on Wes.

But, but, isn’t Clark a war hero? The great leader who led NATO to victory in Serbia and Kosovo from 30,000 feet. What bravery, what moxy, what an inspiration to us all. Also, he’s right, getting shot down over Vietnam doesn’t qualify anyone to be President of the United States, nor does refusing to be released when the VC offered and instead subjecting yourself to 5 and 1/2 years of daily physical and mental torture. Clark, I hope you are my messiah’s running mate. (unbelievable sarcasm alert)

From Michael Moore's website, September 12th, 2003:Michael Moore to Wesley Clark: Run!
A Citizen's Appeal to a General in a Time of War (at Home)
Dear General Wesley Clark,
I've been meaning to write to you for some time. Two days after the Oscars, when I felt very alone and somewhat frightened by the level of hatred toward me for daring to suggest that we were being led into war for "fictitious reasons," one person stuck his neck out and came to my defense on national television.
And that person was you.

My Vote's for Obama (if I could vote) ...by Michael Moore
Friends,
I don't get to vote for President this primary season. I live in Michigan. The party leaders (both here and in D.C.) couldn't get their act together, and thus our votes will not be counted.
So, if you live in Pennsylvania, can you do me a favor? Will you please cast my vote -- and yours -- on Tuesday for Senator Barack Obama?

Michael Moore quote, also from his website...
The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not "insurgents" or "terrorists" or "The Enemy." They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win. Get it, Mr. Bush?
[actual quote from Michael Moore (2004). It still appears on his website]

This one has been up for years, although I doubt if it's actually Michael Moore saying it...
The Communist Party USA (CPUSA):
"We are a party of unity in action. We are an integral part of every struggle and movement for change to eliminate poverty and joblessness, against racism and for full equality. We are participants, initiators and leaders of every movement to make life better now and much better in a socialist future." Yeah, so they supported an oppressive dictator, like the Repubs and Democrats haven't? The CP is still around, has apologized for that whole Stalin thing, and has a quickly growing youth section.

I bet he'll stay away from Marcy Park, airplanes, toilets, and he better not be ever sent to a federal detention center.
