Shortly after joining the U.S. Senate and while enjoying a surge in income, Barack Obama bought a $1.65 million restored Georgian mansion in an upscale Chicago neighborhood. To finance the purchase, he secured a $1.32 million loan from Northern Trust in Illinois. This Story
The freshman Democratic senator received a discount. He locked in an interest rate of 5.625 percent on the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage, below the average for such loans at the time in Chicago. The loan was unusually large, known in banker lingo as a "super super jumbo." Obama paid no origination fee or discount points, as some consumers do to reduce their interest rates.
Compared with the average terms offered at the time in Chicago, Obama's rate could have saved him more than $300 per month

UUUKKK! He IS so disgusting! What a horrible mental image! Did you notice his big, out of proportion mouth which amplifies his humongous dumbo ears? Governor McGreevey of NJ had a like proportioned mouth, it grotesqly covered his entire facee making him look like a comic in the Circus?
Did Larry Sinclair ever meet Mc Greevey?
Geez, another B.O. HUSSEIN apologist? :-(
Check Bill Sheehan for that dope quote. He said it twice, then resigned.
Huh?
Never mind the points he did or didn't pay, or the "sweet" deal he got on the mortgage. The real questions oughta be: how did he qualify for that mortgage in the first place? The mortgage has a 5-figure mortgage payment, estimated about $16,000 per month. How does he manage to pay that on a senator's salary? Mind you, this is not a guy who has an entrepreneurial or business background who became independently wealthy, right? Follow the money.
More ammo for the GOP
Is that a Union painter in the second picture on post 33?
Or is just another “undocumented” worker?
Ya think Barry Hussein knows or cares.
I am coming to the conclusion they really want to lose. Even gross incompetence couldn't explain the way they are running this campaign.
I want photos of all us reps and senators’ houses, cars, and whether their kids go to public or private school and how much is it if they are going to a private school...Let’s start showing just how much our “LEADERS” lead in cutting back when they’ve been sitting on their hands forcing US to cut down on our budget items. Have even 1 of them ever rode a public bus or subway to and from work? I have - try it waiting outside in 112 degress in Phoenix.
You're right. 30 basis points better than average, isn't much for someone whose credit score is above average. That's why it's called an "average".Typical WaPo hit piece, crap reporting. They probably want to hit-job McCain next, and this BS gives them cover.
I agree. The .32 discount is not that big a deal if he was going to open additional accounts with Northern Trust. The waiver of origination fees, and no points paid is really not that big of a deal either. It's interesting that he didn't have a prior banking relationship with Northern Trust when he applied for the loan, though. They had contributed substantially to his campaign.
It obviously cannot appear in print versions yet because the story just ran in the WP this morning. But as of 2 pm ET, a Google News search shows the story being carried by all the major news outlets online (NYT, USA Today, FOX News, MSNBC, etc.) plus a ton of blogs.
I'll bet they did. But all that would prove is that Northern Trust isn't the only mortgage lender willing to write sweetheart deals. The only issue is if Northern Trust--or any of these other "contenders"-- can produce loans they wrote at the same time, with the same terms, for people of similar means without a position of influence in government.
The big deal is the Rezko connection, all the way near the bottom of the article.
The joke is that's what i owe for my whole entire house. No respect for us little people
So do I.
I see Obama's friends in the media paying scant attention to things like the connection between Omama's whopping raise in return for her husband getting her employer about a million dollars through the senate, while they send us off chasing our tails on piddlyass things like a couple tenths of a percent discount on a loan that probably anyone with an excellent credit rating and their income and job security could get.
There's a pile of red meat rotting away on the table, while the media has us scratching in the dirt for maggots.
Fascinating. This might be a “scandal” people can understand.
To all my freeper friends out there...I desperately need some help.
Yesterday, I sent out an email to everyone in my address book the link to Obama’s website:
http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/group/MarxistsSocialistsCommunistsforObama
so they could see for themselves the support he has of the Marxists, etc. But today a couple of them have emailed me back with problems getting into the link and they are sent to a link that says they are being hacked or something. Now, I put that link on here (FR) yesterday and it goes straight to the site...but from the email...things are a little fishy... does anyone know if this could be some of the Obama team’s ways of shutting down “rumors” through email? I know they were pretty desperate at one time...
PLEASE HELP anyone!!!
