"It would be the first time that the first family is comprised in part of Asian-Americans..."

Don't the McCains have an adopted daughter from Asia? Would she not count?

Ah, the famously objective fact-finding press.

Another attempt by Democrats to put everyone in group box where they won't have to think for themselves and the Democrat appointed group leader will make all decisions; just like the communists use and promotion of the soviets.

It’s going to be interesting whether anybody really does a whole genealogy family tree on his Kenyan side.

Dunno about you, but I’m OD’ing on this whole gender/race thingie, bet many here are too.

Holding up ethnicity as a prime attractor is stupid to me, but seems to strike chords in other people.

And let’s see whether the Repubs highlight the fact of his many half uncles and aunts etc, since Papa Obama had quite a few wives and as relatives of his.

That’s one hell of a tangled family tree.

Don’t worry, after they vote for Obama, he will throw them under the bus too for being too “white.”

To many in this crowd Obama's Asian-American half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, represents yet another aspect of Obama's identity that makes him unique as a presidential candidate, although it has been underplayed amid the excitement surrounding his shot at becoming the first black president.

"It would be the first time that the first family is comprised in part of Asian-Americans _ as well as African-Americans, of course," said Keith Kamisugi, a coordinator with Asian-Americans for Obama. In early June he organized a fundraiser along with two other Obama events focusing on Asian-American voters in San Francisco.

His birth father had several wives at this same time. Is that where this half-sister comes from? Or is this from father number two?

Is she an American citizen?

The whole world likes to influence our elections but any efforts at dabbling in foreign policy with other countries is always called "meddling" and "imperialism".

Asian Americans are just as diverse, if not morese, than European Americans. Do Mr. Patel who owns an IT consultancy in New Jersey and Robert Miao, the Hmong laborer in Wisconsin really have alot in common?
