A postcard featuring a cute puppy sitting in a policeman's hat advertising a Scottish police force's new telephone number has sparked outrage from Muslims.
Tayside Police's new non-emergency phone number has prompted complaints from members of the Islamic community.
The choice of image on the Tayside Police cards - a black dog sitting in a police officer's hat - has now been raised with Chief Constable John Vine.

The advert has upset Muslims because dogs are considered ritually unclean and has sparked such anger that some shopkeepers in Dundee have refused to display the advert.
Dundee councillor Mohammed Asif said: 'My concern was that it's not welcomed by all communities, with the dog on the cards.
'It was probably a waste of resources going to these communities.
'They (the police) should have understood. Since then, the police have explained that it was an oversight on their part, and that if they'd seen it was going to cause upset they wouldn't have done it.'

Didn’t he say something about thinking of getting a dog (like the Clintons did when they needed something for the press to focus on)?
I think that covers all the bases and then some.
They don’t believe that angels will visit any home that has a dog indoors.
So let the Muslims get their knickers in a twist, why should the rest of the citizens who are not the least bit offended have to change because some Muslims have a problem with dogs. What would be non offensive to Muslims ...pictures of planes slamming into the World Trade Center, the beheading of Daniel Pearl or how about the Farfur the Jew hating mouse from Hammas TV?

Unfortunately, there will be no outrage when the government pulls the ad and apologizes.
Have you ever got a whiff of the guy working the counter at your local convenience store? Talk about ritually unclean!

The police should send out a postcard showing a terrorist beheading someone.
Then EVERYONE will have been offended.
Because those are not "real" muslims so they feel no need to speak out against them. Also it is forbidden to question the faith of any other muslim. Also it is safer to attack the West than to attack international terorrists.

Amnesty International would not be offended. I haven’t heard them stage any international protests the way they do over capital punishment. Terrorists kidnapping civilians, videotaping them, slashing their throats, and then streaming the videos online haven’t resulted in any often repeated condemnation from AI.
