Apparently, the issue of gay marriage should be left up to each state, so long as each state is prepared to approve of the issue of gay marriage.
You noticed that too, huh? What a charlatan.
“Apparently, the issue of gay marriage should be left up to each state, so long as each state is prepared to approve of the issue of gay marriage.”
Unfortunately, when it is left up to the states and the people vote against same sex unions, as with Prop 22, the courts by fiat can overturn the will of the people of the state. I wonder if Obama supports judicial tyranny over the rights of the state’s voting majority?
Exactly right. Those who favor states rights on the marriage issue want to see same-sex marriage. They aren’t truly in favor of each state making a determination of whether they want homosexual marriage.
It’s good to see them be honest about their positions. Why doesn’t Obama just come out and say he favors homosexual marriage? He said he’s against it, but wants each state to decide, so he says. Yet he’s also in favor of repealing the federal marriage law. So on the one hand, he says let states decide (ya right) and on the other hand, he prefers there to be no law at the federal level defining marriage.
And with no law at the federal level, that leaves it wide open for future federal courts to say, well, there’s no law against same-sex marriage at the federal level, so just accept any definition of marriage from any state instead. That’s where this is headed.

Obama: I have always believed that the Second Amendment protects the right of individuals to bear arms, but I also identify with the need for crime-ravaged communities to save their children from the violence that plagues our streets through common-sense, effective safety measures."
Would seem someone ought to be able to tag Obama's logical equivalencies and rhetorical reductions as an exploitable wound. They're so obvious that a little repetition ought to fix both his faces permanently in the minds of those trying to decide for whom to vote. Maybe a caricature of Obama with one face and two mouths?
