First of all, PJ...you were RIGHT about the hidden seal
Many thanks to Texas Darlin and Greg Gelembiuk, but props to the GIMP development team (http://www.gimp.org/) for providing the software used to examine these images.
* QUESTION: Are there seals hidden from view on the "Certificate of Live Birth" images posted to (a) the Daily Kos. (b) BarackObama.com (aka "Fight the Smears") and/or (c) the two images posted on OPENDNA's PhotoBucket account?
* ANSWER: YES to (a), but a big, fat NO to (b) and (c)
Basically, I believe I put to rest a flurry of posts on the other blogs that are showing off an enhanced version of the Daily Kos image which reveals what appears to be a seal hidden from view.
PJ pointed this out to me. Without the use of any filters, PJ could see tghe ripples in the Kos image.
And, my response to finding the hidden seal is BIG WOOF!
As I mentioned earlier on, the State of Hawaii does not issue uncertified COLB's -- either you have a COLB that bears the embossed seal and signature block on it, or you have zilch.
Therefore, ergo, at some point in the creation of the first fake image, there had to have been an actual COLB or a copy of an actual COLB.
Either way, you cannot create a fake COLB from thin air. You have to start with something that is a copy of one.
Speaking of "zilch," that is exactly what Obama has provided to America to prove where, when and to whom he was born.
Obama does have some s'plainin' to do.
We've read his "Audacity of Hype."
We've read his "Schemes of my Birth Certificate."
Now, please Sen. Obama...

My wife of 34 years thinks so, she's a "Language Arts Major" and taught for 36 years. She taught me everything I know about English as she is spoken in these parts. Me? I'm just a mechanical engineer who think that you should be able to think up at lease three plausible variations to spell any given word. I take that to be an indicator of a creative mind.

PS Another thing that gets me cranky is newscasters who present everything in the present tense as: "He robs the store and runs down the sidewalk!" God created time so everything doesn't happen all at once!
Ignoring the birth certificate would be a big issue.
Every issue is a big issue when you’re talking about POTUS.

If anyone wants to question B Hussein’s birth certificate with the Federal Election Commission, a formal complaint must be notorized and mailed in (preferably in triplicate). Might be a great idea if maybe a thousand of us got together and filed. What do you think??
What is the significance of the hidden seal? Doesn’t that prove that the document is authentic? It just didn’t scan, as it wsa photographed from the front..with a digital camera. Am I wrong?

I recreated what you did with the filter "Edge-Detect" using GIMP. The Official Obama site, that I saved a week ago, BC shows no seal using the filter while the KOS site Obama BC does show the outlined of a "seal".
The seal is definitely photoshopped phony-baloney.

Enough of you do believe it IS a big deal, as I do, and as others have said. What I am going to do now, is to sum up exactly what these investigations mean to all of us.
OK, ready?
An original, printed on green paper, and duly certified, "Certification of Live Birth" for Barack Obama does not exist anywhere in the public domain, and most likely not in the private sector that is limited to Obama, his family, and anyone else authorized by the State of Hawaii to have one.
You can be sure that if a real one was obtained under false pretenses, the offender would have made a copy of it and either posted it under a pseudonym, exactly as it is, or is keeping it to blackmail Obama.
In short, whatever information is contained on the actual BC -- if one really does exist -- that information would likely be very damaging to Obama if ever released to the public.
The only thing we know for sure is that EVERY SINGLE IMAGE purported to be a copy of Obama's real BC or COLB, is a phony, a fake, a forgery, and/or a fraud -- take your pick of adjectives. Either one says that a crime has been committed.
And, is it not our civic duty to report any crime we see?

One very obvious mistake on this certificate is the fathers race. At that time period it would have said “Negro”
I decided to register with Ancestry dot com.
I looked up Obama’s Mother’s name. She is on file and so his Barack Obama Sr. with five children in Africa listed under his name, but no Barack Obama birth record.
So I added his name and the only thing that came up was his records of residences in Massachusetts and Illinois as an adult.
I tried Soetoro…but got his sister Maya Soetoro and her father Lolo Soetoro.
Also, his mother has a civil marriage listed for the State of Washington, but I don’t know to whom.
I found it odd that his half brothers and sisters would be on record, but nothing about his birth. Obama should have come up as the child of Stanley Ann Dunham. Sounds pretty strange!!!
