Snugs, that’s a beautiful photo of a strawberry trifle, but I’ll be darned if I haven’t seen that photo before. Are you recycling photos of your Sunday dinners?

It is crazy for several reasons not the least of which I doubt very much that Powell has any interest in it at all after all he never denied the comments that his wife after the first Bush term would not tolerate any return to any form of promient public life.

Although I’d rather they be tried as the treasonous traders they are, it will be a little satisfaction to see both Democrats return to the Senate, and come back for more in 2012.

The President is “toxic” according to Ed Henry on CNN (Ed is so outrageous everyday, this comment does not surprise me in the least).

It's gonna be a fight for freedom from now on Son, these guys have tasted power and they can't keep away from it. It's our job to see that they are relegated to pushing and shoving not ruling for the sake of the country.

Chris brings up the fact that we may be looking at up to three (count them) SCOTUS appointments...so is this election about the Court--asks Chris. Juan says--oh, every time we think it's going to be, it never is. (Juan, some of the Justices are really old! How can it not be?) Brit is looking at Juan as if he is truly out of his mind. Juan continues with the point about which base will get more excited...he thinks it's the liberal base. Brit jumps in (thankfully to shut Juan up) and brings up the Hillary voters who will think it's a very important issue. Juan and Mara think that McCain has more of an opportunity to change the court, Barry would keep it as is.
Juan goes on--if McCain could put in people with more energy and act as if the constitution is not a living document (huh??) and be in touch with the reality of our lives...what are they thinking? Where do they live? What is going on up there? (Juan, we ask that about you each week.)
Brit--uh, Juan, I think what is going on up there is that the Court is looking to the organic law of our Constitution and interpreting what those words mean. Now Juan--instructs Brit in his fatherly manner--there's nothing about that decision that would let kids or crazy people have guns. Brit tells Juan his examples (Columbine, city crime, etc.) are a gross exaggeration. Bill brings up the crime problem in D.C. and Juan insists that if we all had guns we'd be killing our husbands and wives. Brit must again spank Juan by reminding him of the old saying--if you ban guns, only criminals will have guns. It's an old saw, but there's wisdom there. Juan--guns scare me. And it seems to me we have an invitation to have more. Chris assures Juan--nobody packs heat on the Panel.
Chris asks if the conservatives are still in charge of the Court and Bill says it's the Kennedy Court, he being the swing vote. Chris--and Brit, because I know you'd like to beat up on Justice Kennedy, your feelings? Brit says he doesn't have the clarity and force...he gets into the swamp of relativism and when he starts evolving the standards of this country, there is no tether on the man and he and the other Justices can go anywhere they want.

Re our “toxic” president:
As reported by Dr Deb on the “Dose” 110 people paid $5000 EACH for a photo with him at a recent event. I think this is happening at every event that he attends. His total fundraising $$ is another number that will not be reported by the dnc media.
Also: just the sheer energy that it must take to do what President Bush does in a day is worthy of praise. I cannot imagine posing and smiling 110 times at one event.

an interview with McCain from 10 years ago.
Come on, CNN, you can do better than that! (Cant you???)
.
A pro-baby topic too, next time you see an abortion anti-baby supporter, ask if they value their own life, though you may want to do that under your breath, because the answer should be obvious.

The President is toxic
See Mr Clinton’s medical records and that statement is true. President Bush is going to be found innocent, unlike Democrats who keep claiming they took Bush’s word for going to war, instead of actually studying the intelligence they were offered, like every bill that goes through Congress, unread by most.

The Democrats (of whom Delahunt is a prime example) have become vicious witch hunters. In anticipation of getting control of the White House and solidifying their hold on Congress, they have been busy formulating plans to prosecute the Bush Administration (including Bush and Cheney) for war crimes.
They don’t care about keeping the country safe. Their prime objective is to put on some show trials. Delahunt just let the cat out of the bag prematurely, when he tried to treat Addington like a criminal who deserved our hatred and to show his sympathy for poor al Qaeda terrorists whose “basic human rights were violated.”
He’s been listening to his cohorts and never realized how this attitude would play out with a national audience. Or maybe he was put up to it - insinuating himself into the questioning - by his far left supporters.

Yes, Governor Palin's new baby has Down's Syndrome. The rest of that story is that she and her husband knew that during the pregnancy and never considered aborting which proves that she LIVES her values. IIRC she has described this child as a gift from God that brings great joy to their lives.
I'm sure the DBs would attack her as being cruel to the baby and the rest of the family in the expectation that 99% of the country would agree with them. Might be some unintended consequences on that one.
She has said herself that she wants to be at home with her family. She has been very effective in cleaning up the corruption (including Republican) in Alaska and has said she wants to stay there.
OTOH it can be pretty enticing to help save the country from Obama and hopefully to help guide McCain... I'll try to stay out of those weeds for now.
IMO the good thing about being VP is that she would have less actual responsibility as VP than Gov and could spend time with her family if they all come to DC. However, they are ALL outdoors people and very active, so DC would be a negative in that respect.
OTOOH if she'd be a likely president from 2012 to 2020 that would be hard to resist.
Also, what should be irrelevant, but isn't, She's drop dead gorgeous. Also might be a draw for disappointed Hillary fems.
