Creationist Bill Signed by Jindal
LGF ^ | June 27, 2008

Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal has signed a stealth creationist bill into law, and American educational standards take a huge step backward: Science law could set tone for Jindal.

The creationist front group called the Discovery Institute is quietly crowing, and maintaining the fiction that the bill is not religiously-based.

That is actually how I take the Bible. It full of valid moral lessons even to a non-Christian. But I can point out the factual flaws when people start claiming it’s inerrant in the face of what we observe, when they say we should start teaching it in place of science.

Sorry,

“To such a being the crucifixion would be infinitely less *troublesome* than a mosquito bite would be to us.”

“To such a being the crucifixion would be infinitely less *troublesome* than a mosquito bite would be to us.”

I am sure you mean well, but you are assuming the same sort of garbage that is typical of many "scientists". You assume facts, not in evidence. Instead you posit, as if you are speaking truth. How else can you justify your precious TOE liturgy?

From a proper exegesis of Scripture, we can see that Jesus felt everything a man would feel. He was a man, with God's Spirit. Try being bound with chains, and a crown of thorns jammed onto your head. Try carrying half a tree through a couple of blocks. Try putting a nail through your hands... then a spear in your side. It will hurt, just as it hurt Jesus. God felt it necessary to be completely human, to experience how a human would feel, and how a human would die. Jesus is quoted, asking "why have you forsaken me?" He may have known in His heart that He was coming back, but We do not know His mind, do we? We only get it second handed, as you so often remind us.

********

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?

Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?

-Negro Spiritual, unattributed.

*****

In looking through my tears one day,
I saw Mount Calvary;
Beneath the cross there flowed a stream
Of grace, enough for me.

Refrain

Grace is flowing from Calvary,
Grace as fathomless as the sea,
Grace for time and eternity,
Grace, enough for me.

While standing there, my trembling heart,
Once full of agony,
Could scarce believe the sight I saw
Of grace, enough for me.

Refrain

When I beheld my every sin
Nailed to the cruel tree,
I felt a flood go through my soul
Of grace, enough for me.

Refrain

When I am safe within the veil,
My portion there will be,
To sing through all the years to come
Of grace, enough for me.

Refrain

-GRACE, ENOUGH FOR ME, Edwin O. Excell, 1905

I am relating what was told to me by a Christian apologist. Haven't you been reading?

How else can you justify your precious TOE liturgy?

One problem with creationists/IDers is that they can't deal with something that is not religion. They feel a need to call science religion so they can deal with it on grounds they're used to, try to get it expelled from schools by saying it is a religion. They can't deal with the fact that it is simply not religion.

That's not to say that some don't treat it as religion, like Dawkins, but those few are just as bad as the IDers.

One problem with creationists/IDers Darwinists/TOEers is that they can't deal with something that is not religion. They feel a need to call science religion myths or mass ignorance, so they can deal with it on grounds they're used to, try to get it expelled from into the schools by saying it is NOT a religion. They can't deal with the fact that it is simply not religion the definition of "is"!

That's not to say that some don't treat it as religion, like Dawkins, but those few are just as bad as the IDers Darwinists.

Fixed it for you. Same argument can be made, but if you wish, we will simply call it Philosophy! Hey, you tried, but I still believe in God! Plus, I am now convinced that Darwinism is religion... Thank you for the clarification.

Keep up the Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Gaia is all there is.... Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Don't forget to touch your fingers together!

Your reverse doesn’t apply except for the small minority such as Dawkins who are trying to turn their non-religion into a religion in itself, and are proselytizing it.

In all other cases you made it nonsensical.

You win. I am a convert to Darwinism. Your eloquent arguments have overwhelmed my devotion to God, with logic and bullshit.

I am a convert to Darwinism.

You are not only a convert, as the first person to acutally profess such a religious belief, you are now the founder.

That looks like a picture of someone running away from a mouse, taken by the mouse.

Strange, since I haven't tried to convert anyone to anything. This is a common religious paranoia: You always proselytize, so you assume everyone else must be doing the same. Quit projecting.
