A leading democrat says Americans need to get used to paying $5 to $6 a gallon for their gas.
U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Miramar, has a double dose of predictions on gasoline prices that nobody wants to hear: Prices are going up a lot more, he says, and the nation doesn't have any good ways to bring prices down.
West seems to be the only Republican running for office that isn't afraid to speak the raw truth about the marxist, defeatist opponents of this nation. The rest of the GOP acts like a bunch of timid babies when it comes to defining who the Dems really are. WTG LtC West.
Thank you for the clarification. It seems a revolt may be building to throw the bums out, but I have my doubts after seeing support for Mugabe Obama. I just don’t get it.
Don't be so cynical. I expect that as the cold season is setting in, they'll manage to deliver word of abundant supplies of food, fuel oil, and so forth on the way... spoken to us from their cell phones, as they scurry to hibernate in their "secure locations" until spring. I expect that places like "Mount Weather" and "Site R" and all the rest of 'em are right now getting all spiffed up and ready for Winter.
Come the following Spring, enough of us will have died off, and those of us who made it through as survivors will be plenty softened-up to accept whatever orders we're given.
McLuhan said the future ain't what it used to be. No kidding!
BTW, I think this is what "peace in our time" will look like.
But hey, maybe I'm wrong.
Maybe tomorrow the Oil Sheikhs will break into giggles, and shout out in unison, "Just kidding! Hey, we really had you there, didn't we! LOL! But don't worry, we'd NEVER mistreat a good customer!" -- followed by news that they are immediately reducing the price to $25/bbl and the increase in production to "whatever y'all require."
Yeah, that's the ticket...
We can’t TAX our way out of this either!
Going by seniority he is a leading democrat...... he's going on his 9th term.
At least he has admitted that the rat response (lawsuits, regulations, new energy economy, windfall profits tax, carbon taxes, and predatory pricing laws) is just an empty suit. Since he knows that conservative ideas (increasing supply, private investment, reduced environmental regulations) will never be enacted, he is probably right unless there is a depression.
Then he should say, the solutions at our disposal aren't acceptable to him and the Democrat Party. That they have other priorities that are greater than lower energy costs.
So saying, "there ain't no solutions," is dishonest, and bad english.
