What decade is this, anyway? Does Obama think that these companies are representative of American business in 2008? GM is almost out of business and US Steel today employs fewer than 50,000.
These socialist and fascistic policies have been pushed since the beginning of the 20th century (obviously taking real root under FDR). The government has gained an exponentially larger portion of our rights every year and is replacing them with “rights” that don’t exist. They blatantly ignore the Constitution and the philosophy of limited government that this country was founded on. Everyone knows that when government expands, liberty contracts. Anyone who has read anything written by the vast majority of the Founding Fathers would know that they would be absolutely ABHORRED by the amount of control this dwindling Republic asserts over its people. And what have these welfare type policies gotten us? Trillions of dollars lost and NO improve in the quality of life. Arguably it has made America worse especially when looking at the cultural impact of the nanny state and the poverty that “anti-poverty” programs create. America is supposed the land of the free and the home of the brave. However we are rapidly losing freedom and becoming less brave to stand up to it. Most Americans now believe through some twisted logic and distorted reality that Universal Health Care will actually make society better. They are sadly, sadly mistaken.

Obama should change the name of the Democratic Party to the Socialist Party. It’s not democratic, and it is socialist.

All public servants have free health care paid for by the dwindling number or worker bees, many whom cannot afford healthcare.
And we have the parasite class which has free health care paid for by worker bees. The only ones who dont have healthcare are the worker bees who cannot afford it.

I trust government health care to succeed the same as the social security system - not at all. They may as well call it social medical care and let it fail just like SS is going in the tank now.
As Rush has said on many of his shows, "If you think health care is expensive now, just wait until it's free".

When you think about all the people taking from the system and not paying well that tells you how good of a system we actually have. But medicine is at its breaking point...can’t keep piling on and not expect Atlas to shrug. Jump on the socialized medicine bandwagon but don’t be surprised when the wheels fall off.

I realize that as well. I did not change my stance without much reflection. I have just met way too many people who dont have to pay because they are more equal then other animals and I am one of those less equals. It is unfortunate that it has come to this but the bleeding heart liberals will succeed. They get closer all the time and they get more and more people on their side every day.
The party that I have voted for all my life finally got to sit in the leader chairs in all three houses and they failed miserably. My American birthright and status as a citizen of the greatest nation on earth is being tossed in the dirt and left to degrade by corrupt egotistical, power and money hungry parasites in DC who are not governed by the same laws as myself.
