Unconfirmed as yet by the campaign, but the LCRs say its so:
A source with close ties to the Log Cabin Board of Directors provided information about the meeting to GayPatriot earlier this week. This source disclosed that the Log Cabin meeting was not reflected on Senator McCains published schedule in advance and the meeting
Log Cabin President Patrick Sammon confirmed the meeting with Senator McCain in email correspondence with GayPatriot earlier today
Based on published news reports, the meeting with Senator McCain would be the first between any national-level gay Republicans and a Republican Presidental nominee since The Texas 12″ met with then-Governor George W. Bush in 2000.
One of Mavericks more appealing mavericky qualities during the campaign has been his attempt to expand the tent by reaching out to minority voters. The rifts not going to be healed anytime soon and he surely realizes it, but this gets us a tiny bit closer to healing it eventually. Its commendable that hes willing to devote resources to the task. Whats especially impressive or insane, from the strict Machiavellian point of view is that meeting with the LCRs could actually cost him votes among the most strident members of a social conservative base thats not real keen on him to begin with and even less so after he dumped Hagee and Parsley. Surely there arent so many gay Republicans and independents that winning them over will offset the potential loss in votes among evangelicals, so whats McCains game here? Or is there no game at all and hes simply acting out of decency towards a GOP constituency?
Our Log Cabin "Republicans" in Illinois supported Kerry over Bush, Obama over Keyes, and Bobby "black panther" Rush over Wardingley.
Why? Because none of their "fellow" Republicans on the ballot supported special rights for gays.
I don't care what they call themselves, the Log Cabin crowd exists only to inflitrate the GOP and get it to support the RAT agenda. They are NOT Republicans, just a Democrat front group. The only "Republicans" they endorse are RINOs who promise to vote for the radical gay agenda. A REAL Republican group endorses the candidate closest to their own views in the primary, and then backs whoever the party nominee is in the general election.
If they were a group of conservative-minded gays whose motive was to get other liked-minded pro-life, pro-gun, lower-tax, less-spending, anti-amnesty, pro-WOT people who HAPPEN to be gay -- to pull the lever for Republicans, I'd be fine with that.
That is not their motive. Their motive is simply to make the GOP socially liberal and pro gay-marriage. And that is the ONLY issue that will get them to endorse "Republicans".
In short, they are the Log Cabin Democrats and ought to advertise themselves as such.
Quite the opposite. The LCR puts their personal issues ahead of national security and freedom. That's why they were rooting for Kerry and Obama in 2004.
The Log Cabin "Republicans" Board of Directors voted by an overwheming margin of 22 to 2 to OPPOSE President Bush's re-election.

Faaaahbulous
Ha, ha. You said "decently." Ha, ha.
If they are republicans, and willing to vote for republicans, I think it’s fine to reach out to them on areas where we agree, like cutting taxes and deregulation of business.
THe question is if McCain promises them stuff on their agenda or not.
If the choice is your vote, or throw out the vote of everybody who doesn’t agree with you, I think the republican party is probably better off losing your vote.
This is not surprising that McCain would meet with politically active sodomites. After all, McCain led the fight on the Senate floor against the Marriage Amendment. And, another reason to vote third party!
Christ loves pedophiles too. Should McCain meet with NAMBLA?
Maybe you've mistaken me for someone else. I never said I wanted to throw out anyone's vote -- although you just did. I just don't think it is prudent, appropriate, or moral to pander to gays, lesbians, homosexuals, and transgendered and their policy agenda to destroy the family structure and their avowed proclamations to be in front of us and our innocent children's faces with their perversity.
You do understand that distinction & difference, right?
“
The senator was recently active in crafting the ``don’t ask-don’t tell’’ policy in regard to gays in the military but has otherwise largely stayed away from the issue during his political career.”

I presumed by that statement, you said the perverts offered nothing, meaning they did not offer their vote. Apparently though, you do accept their votes, and obviously if they vote for conservatives they have something to offer.
If McCain is simply asking them for their vote, and you agree that you are not rejecting their vote, then I think you are incorrect when you say that you think they have nothing to offer.
Yeah, like when they (the Log Cabin Republicans) refused to endorse President G W Bush in September 2004 -- two months before that election? They did so specifically because Bush supported the marriage amendment. You know, "one man, one woman."
Keep telling yourself the LCRs are conservatives, and while you're at it call yourself one, too, for supporting their agenda.
Would I care if the US constitution were amended to recognize marriage as one man one woman? No, because that's what I believe. I believe it should be done at the state level only and individual states can decide on what types of marriage they recognize.
McCain Meets With Woody, President Of the Queer Group, Log Cabin Republicans........
As I never said they were conservatives, and as we were discussing getting them to vote for a candidate, rather than discussing their issues, your comment is a non-sequitor.
We need more gay Republicans and less gay liberals. Conservtive gays live good and decent lives and are often religious. Any sin they may be committing is between them and their Creator. It’s none of my business. I welcome them to the party.
The problem I have with homosexual activist groups like Log Cabin is that they whole-heartedly embrace the sinful lifestyle. We can say embrace the sinner, hate the sin. But this is like accepting support from avowed alchoholics who actually advocate that alcoholism is healthy. Yes we all sin, but how many of us actually form groups to celebrate and have “pride” in some sin? I think these Log Cabin people are tremendously sick in the head.
