The father of a Florida girl abducted and buried alive in a trash bag by a sex offender has blasted a Massachusetts politician who said he'd have to torment young victims on the witness stand if mandatory sentences for offenders passed the state Legislature.
Mark Lunsford, whose 9-year-old daughter died in 2005, told the Boston Herald that Rep. James Fagan, a defense attorney, should take the rights of victimized children seriously.
Why doesnt he figure out a way to defend that child and put these kind of people away instead of trying to figure ways for defense attorneys to get around Jessicas Law? Lunsford told the paper. These are very serious crimes that nobody wants to take serious. What about the rights of these children?
Fagan came under fire last month for remarks he made about young victims during a debate in the Massachusetts House on the state adopting Jessica's Law, which would require a mandatory 20-year sentence for the rape of a child under age 12.
"I'm gonna rip them apart," Fagan said of young victims. "I'm going to make sure that the rest of their life is ruined, that when theyre 8 years old, they throw up; when theyre 12 years old, they wont sleep; when theyre 19 years old, theyll have nightmares and theyll never have a relationship with anybody."

You just know O’Reilly is gonna get into this tonight. This is his baby (so to speak), and he’ll not let this pass without a comment.
What do you expect from a democrat? It is amazing that Republicans can not win more seats in Mass. with dirt bags like this in office......
They should be sent to prison for life as soon as the accusation is made.
If we can save just one child from being raped, it will be worth it.
Here is his page from the Massachusetts legislature's web site...

What ever hjappened to a “fair trial”. Now days it’s win at all costs, even if it means distorting, lieing, and minipulation of the law.
wonder if he's any relation to the Fagan that stole away his two dtrs for 20 years telling them their mother was dead while all along she was looking for them and going to school to get her phd?....he got like 100hrs community service from Martha Coakley(sp?) a DA in Mass. at the time...
What a great idea. Then one day, when a kid mistakenly picks you (or someone in your family) out of a crowd as someone who molested him, you can feel secure that you’re spending the rest of your days in prison for a sex crime against a child and never had a hearing. /sarc
Oh, come on! Get a damned grip!
The operative word is "accused". We are not yet the "Socialist State of Obama". One is still assumed innocent until proven guilty. Once convicted, fine, but until then, there is still due process!
If you insist on maintaining that mindset, then please change your screen name. A lot of us still believe in "From many, One!"
Why waste taxpayer money, when a .22 behind the ear will permanently solve the problem.
But there are people on FR who seem to feel that way.
why this animal is allowed to be listed with childrens programs is obscene.......
This is today’s Democrat party......wish the Republicans woulduse this in ads....but that would require backbone.
“I’m gonna rip them apart,” Fagan said of young victims. “I’m going to make sure that the rest of their life is ruined, that when theyre 8 years old, they throw up; when theyre 12 years old, they wont sleep; when theyre 19 years old, theyll have nightmares and theyll never have a relationship with anybody.”
Could Fagan be a at least closet pedophile?
In real life, if I was a juror and the defense attorney emotionally ripped apart an 8 year old on the stand, I would vote guilty on every single charge and ask if more charges could be added. I suspect I would not be alone in that viewpoint
Barely worth a response, however, consider scenario: mentally-unstable woman convinces child to make false accusations against a man. Under your scenario, “justice” would be swift and irreversible, and dead wrong.
“I’m going to make sure that the rest of their life is ruined,”
Hey dummy Fagan!!!!....Their lives have already been ruined by your clients.
