Funniest headline of the day; I didn't bother to read the whole story...since I couldn't get beyond the headline.
This is why we call them: See BS!
Too darn funny

The long-awaited report confirms widespread criticism last year that the once fiercely independent Justice Department was victim to political meddling by the Bush administration. The scandal led to the resignation last September of former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Yes, certainly. The Justice Department was fair & balanced under such AGs as Janet Reno and Bobby Kennedy--the president's own brother.
The problem with Alberto Gonzalez was not that he was partisan, but that he was incompetent.

Bless W’s little heart . Not firing everyone of them was an inexplicable inaction beyond a reasonable expectation of good faith to the point of being a kindness that was certain not to be repaid .

Unintended consequences alert: Does this mean that if Obama gets elected, cBS will hold him to a standard where half of his DOJ hires have to be Republicans? I am not holding my breath.

After what the Clintoon Administration got away with, that line alone is worth a Level 9 GAG ALERT!

Audit: DOJ Weeded Out Liberals, Dems,...Well they sure didn't do a very good job of it, if that was the plan...
If this was their idea of "weeding out", I'm not having these guys get anywhere near my lawn (there's enough weeds in it already)...

What’s wrong with this? We had a Republican President, a Republican Congress and a Republican Attorney General. They have the right to promote their ideological friends and reject Democrats and Liberals who are their enemies and the enemies of America.

Oh just peachy! They spend decades building their numbers in the doj and after a couple years of weeding and trimming by conservatives they cry foul. Never mind that they'd been working through both policy and tacit agreement to populate the department with like-minded, liberal folk.
< Rant >The left can NEVER be CURSED ENOUGH for the damage they have done to this country! From intel to justice to congress, the beast needs to be purged by millions of disgruntled voters. No longer satisfied to be shunted toward the yoke of socialism, the electorate needs to vote the traitors out of office, or vote with their feet proceeding to jurisdictions more amenable to the principles of liberty this country was founded to foster. < /Rant >
Apologies, it's going to be a long campaign/term.

I sent See BS an email about this story. Told them I was laughing out loud at them. Told them they have no credibility. Told them the laugh factor alone for this story was at the falling-on-the-floor level. Told them, this is why there are known across the country as SEE BS.
What a bunch of clymers they are.

Don't forget Xlinton fired ALL the U.S. attorneys wholesale when he took office...which went WAY over the top on "housecleaning" and hadn't ever been done before.
Meanwhile, W and his New Tone got taken to the cleaners with partisan hacks in the State Dept., CIA and DOJ...this "study" nothwithstanding. Look how fast the DOJ reverted to form after John Ashcroft was fired resigned [rooooight...]. Suddenly the DOJ is taking the side of the gun-grabbers in D.C.... so say "so long 2nd Amendment"....

Even if Republicans appointed all DOJ new hires, 43% would vote with the most leftwing Democrats. Exhibit A: U.S. Supreme Court— three justices appointed by Republican administrations generally vote the far left party line. Two of the three are almost indistinguishable from the two far left appointees of Clinton.

I think it is more likely that the advancements went to people who did their jobs regardless of ideology or politics. Liberals don’t have a similar work ethic. If they disagree with their boss, they sabotage their boss, their colleagues, and their clients and consider it their moral obligation to do so.

Also, I’d like to know just how many lawyers whose politics could best be described as “conservative” were hired by the Bubby/Reno DOJ. Don’t remember anyone asking for that report - do you?

Is it just me, or is it a no-brainer that the Justice Dept would want lawyers that actually believe in prosecuting criminals instead of coddling them? Perish the thought.
