Denver-based organization says pot is safer than alcohol
One pro-marijuana group is calling on the government to allow marijuana in smoking lounges at airports across the country.
Cigarette smoking at Denver International Airport and other airports across the country is restricted to smoking lounges.
Members of the Denver-based organization Safer Alternative for Enjoyable Recreation (SAFER) will ask the government Tuesday to allow pot in airport smoking lounges.

Are you kidding? According to the Feds, pot is worse than meth, coke, crack and PCP combined.

OPINION ABOUT MARIJUANA : It should be legalized. I rather encounter a stoner than a drunk. Empty the jails and tax it...
If pot smokers were smart, the very last thing they’d want is for it to be legal. Once the government gets involved there is no turning back.
On another note, that is one funky-assed looking airport.

Uh, isn’t marijuana still considered contraband? How are you supposed to get that through the security checkpoint?
and pilot who walks by the lounge gets a contact high and is fired.

But seriously... no. Slippery slope that could end up in stoned pilots or maintenance personnel. Don’t want someone under the influence doing the pre-flight on my plane.
20 years ago there was a joke about marijuana being legal whist cigarettes would be outlawed. life sure is beginning to resemble bad jokes.

Me too. At least potheads are peaceful. You never here of assassins high on THC. Well maybe you do, the word "assassin" comes from a group that got high on THC and killed people. But what the hey?
I’m more scared of the occassional pilot I see downing JD at the airport bar.
Just great. I can’t catch a quick cigarette in many airports but they’ll let us smoke joints?!

Horrible idea... do you have any idea how looong that would make the flight seem like?
But then again... the seatback tray all by itself would be plenty entertaining.
