Soldier Suicide Ends Sarkozy Ceremony

Updated:15:38, Tuesday June 24, 2008 A departure ceremony for French President Nicolas Sarkozy has come to an abrupt end after an Israeli soldier apparently shot himself at Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv.

Confusion surrounded the incident and initial reports said the soldier may have fallen off a roof, causing his weapon to go off accidentally.

I'm mad at Sarko right now, but he could have ordered his wife to fly up those stairs as fast as she could...and she did as ordered.

You can also bet they're hostile to a French president that is perceived as way too conservative by contemporary European socialist standards.

I will bet that it will take a while to sort it out. It could have been a suicide, or could have been some kind of dumb accident. On Fox they reported that a couple of female soldiers in the vicinity witness it, and one or both of them fainted. Heck, maybe they were each involved with the guy and there's a love story gone bad? Could be anything.

Thankfully, it doesn't appear to be some kind of attack and Sarkozy and his party were unhurt, if only a little ruffled.
