Sealed With A Diss For Democracy (Obama era begins prematurely)
Boston Herald ^ | June 24, 2008 | Michael Graham

Posted on 06/24/2008 3:55:57 AM PDT by suspects

Watching Barack Obama delivering a campaign speech from behind his very own, new-and-improved presidential seal, all I can say is this:

I, for one, welcome our new liberal overlords.

Oh, come on, my fellow conservatives - don’t you read Newsweek? Aren’t you watching PBS? Obama has a 15 percent lead, has flip-flopped on campaign spending and therefore is president in all but name only. Any day now, he’ll be spotted in D.C. with Deval Patrick, picking out new White House drapes.

So we all might as well get with the mainstream media program and bow to the new regime of hope, change and insufferable arrogance - no, wait! I meant “American greatness!”

Please don’t hurt me, presumptive President Obama.

I’m not one of the people complaining that having your own presidential seal at this point is a bit arrogant. It’s that traitor to the new regime, Mickey Kaus over at Slate.com:

“If you wanted to emphasize to voters that the Democrats’ nominee is a bit stuck up, it would be hard to do better. I suppose he could start requiring reporters to stand when he enters the room.”

I, for one, like the New Seal of the Obama-dency. It’s so much more hip and avant-garde than that old, patriotic thing. The shield of stars and stripes representing the USA? Gone. Replaced by the royal “O,” and an image of the rising sun, symbolizing, uh, imperial Japan, maybe? I’m not really sure.

And changing that tired old “E Pluribus Unum” was a masterstroke. On the Obama seal, the motto is “Vero Possumus,” which loosely translates to either “Yes, We Can” or “Let Them Eat Possum” (an appeal to disaffected voters in West Virginia).

4Regardless, millions of Obamaniacs are ready for Barack to be president, and they want it...

Graham: “Regardless, millions of Obamaniacs are ready for
Barack to be president, and they want it right now.
They don’t see the point of all this “will of the people”
nonsense. “Why do we have to listen to the stupid
Constitution, anyway?” they wonder.
“Why can’t we do what we want?”
In Massachusetts, we call these people “legislators.””

‘Let them eat possum’ :-)

the man is the pinnacle of arrogance...and the genius that came up with the new seal clearly demonstrates the mindset of the population that supports him. Scary people...but not too bright. They can and must be defeated.

Obama is President. No actual vote is necessary; just use the online poll.

I really hate when people say this. It makes us look so stupid. Thousands of FREEPERS used to say this about Nancy and it made me cringe because what happens if it actually happens and they win????? Oops we already looked like idiots because Nancy did win!

He’s thrown so many and so much under the bus I don’t know how it can get traction without the wheels touching the ground.

Apparently there will need to be something (news) truly negative from Obama, or extremely radical from opposition to turn off the turned on.

My sainted mother, who was dying at the time, whispered to me that she was afraid for the country if the ‘other man’ were elected. At first, I tossed it off, although I have been very afraid for America if he’s given the keys by hook or by crook. I used to say Herself would do or say anything to be elected, including doing or authorizing whatever is necessary. In his own way, he might be worse, as his handlers would do it for him.

Along with the SCOTUS, taxes, endless federal programs and loss of constitutional rights under what I am certain would occur under an O-man presidency, I have an even more scary thought in my head about those whom he would hire on and appoint as cabinet and advisors. We may joke about it here, but, were he elected, we are all typing at our peril.

No matter what he says or does the zombies that support this guy will say it is taken out of context.

I work in an office that is full of these idiots. I get a knot in my stomach the minute I walk into the office. They are all young, recent college grads or students. They don’t have a clue with regard to real life. What scares me is that these idiots who have yet to get a real job, live with roommates, don’t own a thing and who basically still have mom and dad as a security blanket are fueling this nonsense.

I am preparing myself for the sh!t hitting the fan if this lunatic becomes President. God help us.

"But I, for one, am hopeful that Obama will at least go through the motions of an election before he seizes power and institutes a new regime of lower tides, healed souls and 53 percent federal marginal tax rates."

53%

And here I thought Bostonians were just so on board with this whole I'm better than you thing.

Someone on another forum put it best: "He (Obama) could roast little babies on a spit on the White House lawn and eat them for dinner and these people would still vote for him."

It's so damn sad that we only have choice between McCain and Obama. I am truly afraid for the future of the U.S.

I tried several Latin on line dictionaries. Only one came back with a translation.

Loosely - "With more truth".

That's so damn absurd when connected with Obama.

See translation here.

If the man can lower the sea levels of the world, shouldn’t he at least get his very own presidential seal?

I, too, had a dream, although I wasn’t invited to give a speech about mine.

In my dream, as the adulation of Obama’s followers increased, so did his hat size. As is taught in physics 101, the volume of hot air in the vessel continued to expand to fill the enlarging container. Eventually this process resulted in the container becoming lighter than the surrounding atmosphere and the feet of clay ballast could no longer keep the vessel earth bound so it began to ascend into who nows where. As it rose and disappeared from sight drifting Easterly toward the African Continent a collective sigh of relief was heard from all conservatives and thus was the Union preserved.

The loud boom when it exploded from expansion over the Gold Coast awakened me and I realized that it all had been a _______ dream. (you fill in the blank)
