Israel 'will attack Iran' before new US president sworn in, John Bolton predicts

John Bolton, the former American ambassador to the United Nations, has predicted that Israel could attack Iran after the November presidential election but before George W Bush's successor is sworn in.
Bolton: 'the argument for military action is sooner rather than later'
The Arab world would be "pleased" by Israeli strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities, he said in an interview with The Daily Telegraph.
"It [the reaction] will be positive privately. I think there'll be public denunciations but no action," he said.
Mr Bolton, an unflinching hawk who proposes military action to stop Iran developing nuclear weapons, bemoaned what he sees as a lack of will by the Bush administration to itself contemplate military strikes.
"It's clear that the administration has essentially given up that possibility," he said. "I don't think it's serious any more. If you had asked me a year ago I would have said I thought it was a real possibility. I just don't think it's in the cards."
Israel, however, still had a determination to prevent a nuclear Iran, he argued. The "optimal window" for strikes would be between the November 4 election and the inauguration on January 20, 2009.
"The Israelis have one eye on the calendar because of the pace at which the Iranians are proceeding both to develop their nuclear weapons capability and to do things like increase their defences by buying new Russian anti-aircraft systems and further harden the nuclear installations .
"They're also obviously looking at the American election calendar. My judgement is they would not want to do anything before our election because there's no telling what impact it could have on the

Oh, Never mind.
I woud prefer before November...Please
He’s exactly right.

I hope that the attack, if it happens, will not be a half-ass effort because that would be even worse than none at all.
It should at the very least be a joint attack be The US and Israel. And it’s about time.
“I woud prefer before November...Please”
Me too!
Wanted: a muzzle to stifle the yapping of the neighborhood cur.
Sooner more likely than later.
Very soon, Israel could find itself in an indefensible position, with nothing left but to fight on, because surrender is not an option that will be offered to them.
An Obama Presidency offers no moral sanctuary for the Israelis, as by past statements, and Senate votes, he has hardened his heart against any possibility of ever taking up any advocacy for Israel. With the uncertainty facing them, the Israelis would be in a better position if hostilities began BEFORE the US election in November. Then, the US President HAS to make some kind of response, something that shall burden the next Administration with either maintaining support, or withdrawing it altogether, and leaving Israel to its fate.
Can America afford to abandon Israel? What would that say about what America has become?
I should forward this article and photo to Georgina Voinovich and see if it makes her cry.
If "devastating" enough (i.e. depending upon the weapons involved), Iran might want to stockpile some 1,000,000 sunblock for its citizens.
There are two possibilities here:
a.) Bolton is right on the money and we can bet the rent that Israel will take out the Iranian garbage in the neighborhood after November 4th, but before January 20th.
b.) Bolton already knows when Israel is going to attack, it is way BEFORE November 4th, and he is doing what he can to lull the Islamofascists in Tehran into a semi-false sense of security. Even if Ahmanutjob and the Mullahs (kinda reminds me of the Dancing Itos? lol) don’t buy into it, the uncertainty and paranoia such disinformation can cause is quite frankly priceless.
In fact, I heard some talk that the son of the late Shah has already bought up some property on Cyprus for the purpose of broadcasting ‘Radio Free Farsi’ in the direction of Iran once the attacks and (hopefully) a general uprising begins.
I remember October 1968, when Lyndon Johnson called a halt to bombing in north Vietnam, meanwhile pushing desperate efforts to produce signs of victory in the south. Didn’t work. I guess most presidents get that legacy yearning in the final days. Maybe Bush will see the light after all.
Note to Israel: The polls close at 7:00 pm Pacific Time on 4 November 2008. You can disregard Alaska and Hawaii because they will cancel each other out. So hit Iran before most people even know who the President is.
I like Plan B. ;)
It won’t be...
Georgina Voin-of-a-Vich sucks! Plain and simple.
