Hammer Obama on Energy, and Maybe the Gutless Old Party Can Win After All

Just when it looked like all Democrats had to do to win big in November was run out the clock on this year, it now appears for the first time like they might actually be vulnerable. Gasoline prices topping $4 a gallon and the Democrats' utter lunacy and denial have combined to get the Gutless Old Party back up off the mat to take a much-overdue swing or two.

President Bush held a press conference to call for offshore drilling, oil shale development, refinery construction to handle this new supply and provide greater flexibility in the system, and even opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, which up until now has been something on which he's treaded lightly (heaven only knows why). He indicated his willingness to rescind executive orders if Congress would repeal their bans on development of all of the above.

Think about that for a second. Congress outright banned even checking for energy supplies in these places, much less retrieving any of what might be found there. The same goes for nuclear power plants, which John McCain has rightly been calling for (and hybrid car aficionados should realize are needed to run the auto fleet if it goes significantly electric). None have been built since the late 1970s, thanks to Congress ridiculously thinking every plant is merely a Three Mile Island or Chernobyl waiting to happen.

We need to hang this around the neck of the Dems BIG-TIME. And remind the American people that in 1993 the Congress sent Bill Clinton a Bill authorizing drilling in ANWR. He vetoed it saying it would take 10 years to produce. Well 15 years later, we'd have all the oil we need.

Will the GOP wake up before it's too late?

Sorry, McCain still doesn’t get it... he’s overing 300 million tax dollars for better golf carts for Americans.

RIGHT NOW, the American people are ready to hear about domestic drilling.

If we wait until $4 gas becomes common place and no big deal, we will never see an end.

The President and McCain have seemingly backed off their stated desire to resume drilling. States, they suggest, should make the final decision of drilling in their state. That may, accidentally, be a brilliant development. Some states will be sure to say no, but others will agree. When those states that drill start seeing financial benefits other states will be enticed to put aside their enviro protest because tjheir people will see neighbors paying lower taxes and such due to oil income from taxes on business and jobs created by the oil booms.

This is EXACTLY what is going to happen. The Saudis and OPEC will increase supplies just enough to dull the pain. Meanwhile the Democrats will find some evil "speculator" to frog-march in front of another Congressional show trial. The American public will all watch and... hey is that a bird? Have you seen the new Indiana Jones movie? The giant sleeps again with his warm and fuzzy polar bear.

Yesterday on “Meet the Press”, Brian Williams asked Lindsey Graham this: “You have a beautiful coastline in your home state of South Carolina; are you willing to allow drilling off the coast of South Carolina”?

To which Graham replied: “If the people of South Carolina are in favor of it; yes”.

Williams: “What caused you to change your mind”?

Graham: “ $4 a gallon “.

I searched the following on Ancestry.com this past weekend:

BArack or Barry Obama or Dunham Honolulu Hawaii 1961 and came up with nothing.

I also searched Ann Dunham for marital records and came up with nothing.

In other words, there was no public record of any marriage of Barack Obama Sr and Stanley Ann Dunham or any birth record of Barack Obama II

Something is definitely going on here.

You can park your car in the driveway and not go anywhere on the weekends, and slow the economy further. But what about people who will need home heating oil and gas this coming winter? Are we supposed to sit in our homes and freeze? The Republicans need to remind America that we are a treasure trove of natural energy, and we have been hamstrung and brutalized by the greens and the enviorwhackos.

McCain needs to represent all Americans, not just the sunbelt people. Home heating is non-negotiable. Drill now. Build nuke power plants. Use our resources for our people. To hell with the Gorebulls of this country who think suffering is a virtue. They need to sit down and shut up now, they have run roughshod over this country for 40 yrs. and now look at the situation.

“Well 15 years later, we’d have all the oil we need.”

Not really...
We’ll have all the oil we need when Congress finally abandons the sufur-content law, and allows the building of refineries, free from environmental lawsuit blockages.

The repubs have been on the right side of domestic drilling, nuke power, coal to gas for a long time...this is one of the issues that should be in their pocket, the other being the impeding victory in Iraq!
That give them a pair of Aces...if they can play their hand.

“this is one of the issues that should be in their pocket,”...

Right! But those pockets are going to have holes if they don’t get off their collective butts and beat the drum!

Hate to remind you, but “The Gutless Old Party” was in charge while this fuel crisis was in the making ( under $2 fuel in 2003 up to $4.40 now). You really think the GOP will save us?

1- Drill domestic fields now.

2- Oil from Mexico to subsidize the millions of illegals
here now.

3- Iraq owes us some black gold too.

4- Stop watering down our gasoline with grain alcohol NOW.

And don’t forget that Obama is mostly Arab, then black, then white.

Hope I have that right. Someone correct me with the actual percentages if you can.

I live in Southeast Texas; refineries everywhere. And guess what? The economy is booming. $60 billion in jobs coming to this area before year’s end.

The ENERGY/OIL issue is the key to this election, BOTH for Congress & Pres.

People are hurting w/gas prices and if you show them that due to dems/environmental wackos all your gas & food cost more because they won’t allow US oil drilling & refining the Repubs will win this election totally.

And the people will also say, “Don’t close Gitmo down, put the dems there!” for having put the country thru this energy cost spiral.

Well, let’s just hope McCain doesn’t opt for personality.

Yes, oil, and what about gun rights? Can maybe pick up a few Dummy voters that way?
