I feel the same. Just read this on the Yahoo link in an earlier post.
” “I don’t have any beliefs or allegiances. I don’t believe in this country, I don’t believe in religion, or a god, and I don’t believe in all these man-made institutional ideas,” he told Reuters in a 2001 interview.
Carlin told Playboy in 2005 that he looked forward to an afterlife where he could watch the decline of civilization on a “heavenly CNN.”
I won’t miss the guy one bit. How’s that “afterlife” George?

Baseball vs. Football is my favorite Carlin bit. Very clever.

Me too. Thank you. While not on the level of some vile characters in today’s society, I felt Carlin was a bitter, old liberal man who never learned a damn thing through life.

Don’t forget the “two way” words: Prick and balls.

"...you'd have to remember this from one of his performances to know what I'm talking about." Yes, I do. I've tried numerous times to tell his 'stuff' tale but it's only funny when he tells it.
RIP George.

Trying to get anyone’s attention I can. Can you please pull my post above? There is stuff in there I didn’t notice before posting it. Thanks.

Yeah, you can see a lot of ‘influences’ in Carlos Mencia’s work...
The man's a plagiarist.

He did a looking in the refrigerator routine that I wish I could hear again. Yeah - the "IceBox Man" skit. Try searching YouTube.
IIRC, that one was actually clean enough for unedited radio play.

Like the “live babies” and “dead soldiers?” I say leave it in. Some people on this thread need to see what this guy actually said about God, life, and America.

I remember an interview about two years ago where he said in so many works that he did not believe in anything.
He had not voted since 1972.
He did not give a hoot about this country.
The only thing he cared about was that there was enough people who would spend time and money to attend his concerts and purchase his videos and other products. " As long as I get paid for my stuff"
That was what he cared about.
I remember feeling after that interview " what a selfish slug is George Carlin"
RIP is somewhat anticlimactic for me. As entertaining at times as he was, he died a long time ago in my estimation.

You guys who are fans of comedians who made their living acting cynical, ascerbic, grumpy and shocking... you criticize someone for making a joke about them?
I laughed. At your first post as well. In the same way I laughed at most of Carlin's stuff. In that 'that's wrong but funny' kind of way. Funny some that claim to be fans don't seems to get that sort of humor. He probably would have loved the irony of that.
