Naomi Campbell last night blamed racism for her outburst on a British Airways jet, claiming she had been called 'a golliwog supermodel'.
In an interview with Sky News, Miss Campbell said she was not going to apologise to BA as they were "disgusting."
'I was called a golliwog supermodel, I dont think thats really fair do you?'
The supermodel did not say exactly who had called her the name only that it was not one of the passengers.
When asked who called her the name, she replied: 'Someone on the flight, not the passenger.'
She added:'Would you like it if someone turned round and called you a golliwog supermodel?
'I mean Im proud to be a black woman, Im proud to be British, Im proud of the job that I do but I did not call anyone names of colour, of their race.
'And, you know, Ive had to leave all of that out of court and all of that out of statement because at the end of the day the real problem was, I took my upset and my, the end of my wrath came out on the police, which was wrong.'
Miss Campbell avoided jail yesterday despite admitting kicking, hitting and spitting at police officers on board the jet at Heathrow.
Extraordinary details of the supermodel's vicious assault on two officers emerged in court as she was sentenced to a 200 hour unpaid community service order.
Magistrates told the model that the community service was part of a 12-month order. They also ordered her to pay compensation of £200 each to the two police officers she assaulted, and £150 compensation to the aircraft captain, Miles Sutherland.

Big deal.
Ms. Chip meet Ms. Shoulder ...
Just weird. But if the shoe fits, as they say.
for those not aquainted with the term it is a term for cute little black children from days gone by. In America people would us the word “pickaninny” in the same way. All those old advertisements with black child characitures were pickaninnies.
In Britain there was a famous blackberry jam that had golliwogs on the label for decades and they were pressured to remove them in the 70’s.
The shortened form, “wog” is somewhat equivalent to our “n-word”, but doesn’t contain the same intensity of feeling.
A popular joke in the 70’s was:
A black guy was being picked on By a Northern Irishman, a Scotsman, a Southern Irishman, and a Liverpudlian in a Pub.
The bartender told them, “Mick, Mack, Paddy, Wack, Leave the wog alone.”
This is meant for educational purposes only
That looks like a black Raggedy Andy doll.
I just do not get the deal.
i’m almost 47 years old and this is the first time in my entire life that i’ve ever heard these terms
She’s always causing some sort of trouble.
Well, she may have a point. I wouldn’t want to be compared to Golliwog.
If THAT's the type of adversity you have to face in your life...you are blessed. Think of your typical day based on your beauty and financial success and compare that to the difficult life of someone who's physically challenged and ...not as beautiful. What's THEIR life like? Pleeeeease.
And if THAT doesn't give you a bit of perspective...try on the shoes of our fellow Americans dealing with all the flood damage and left with nothing..... She is a sad excuse for a human being.
The fact that she always responds the same way to any provocation makes one less sypathetic. I can just picture her strolling back to first class, sitting down between her bodyguards smiling, having a glass of champagne, and then asking, "anyone know what a golliwog is? BOOM!
That overpaid stupidmodel is a loon, complete loon.
And then you walk away, knowing that you've had the last laugh.
You can always tell people (like Naomi) who grew up without a father in the house. More often than not they are perpetually angry and violent.
