Male kiss adds sauce to Heinz mayo ad

Heinz is set to challenge some viewer expectations with a light-hearted TV campaign that features two men sharing a kiss.

The TV commercial, which promotes a new range of dressing called Heinz Deli Mayo, breaks tonight and will be supported by a press campaign.

Heinz' new ad opens with a family on a normal morning routine with a young boy and girl getting ready for school and their father preparing for the office.

The young boy and girl go to the kitchen to get their sandwiches, which are being prepared by a man with a New York accent dressed in a deli serving outfit who they refer to as "mum".

When their father goes to get his sandwich he says to mum in the kitchen "See you tonight love".

However, mum barks back "Hey, ain't you forgetting something?", at which point the two men share a kiss. Mum then sends the father off with the words: "Love you. Straight home from work, sweet cheeks."

El Monterey taquitos are pretty good but the shells are thicker than Delimex' shells. There is one more brand in my local grocery but I don't remember the name. The best solution is for me to not be so lazy and fix them from scratch. I do better Mexican food than most restaurants much less what's found in the freezer section.

I appreciate the help though.

“Not true, I remember the episode well and it was on his cheek.”

Fair enough, I haven’t seen it in a while.

“In fact it was the grossness of it that was the humor.”

Exactly what I thought when I saw this commercial.

“Ascared of catching the gay?

Straight (no pun intended) out of the lib play book.”

Indeed and it was meant tongue-in-cheek. I don’t, in reality, think you might be “scared of catching the gay”. I was actually trying to get a rise out of you which wasn’t nice on my part.

Well, the British sense of humor is pretty different than here. If a British audience would take that ad as sarcastic, and laugh that the mom turned into a deli man, and say “Ew!” when s/he continued to flirt with and kiss her husband after the transformation, then there’s probably no harm done. But most Americans would take the ad literally and think it was supposed to be an actual gay couple with kids, and this was being shown as an OK family model. I don’t know if the ad is just a joke in England, but I definitely would not want it shown in the US.

Hunt’s for the best...

Dig deep enough an you'll probably find homo-support in all these brands. The gaystapo has them all in their pocket.

That's it. That's the other brand. lol

They work. I like to add some salsa and cheese or leftover green chile stew over top.

It seems like the message is supposed to be: This mayo is so good, “mum” will fix your sandwich, but it will taste like it was made in a real New York Deli.

But they took it too far.

Thirty years ago, it might’ve been funny. ;-)

As an Uncle Milton skit it would have been amusing, perhaps. But in our current degeneracy everywhere / homo-agenda world, it’s not even funny.

Have they lost their freaking MINDS? Do they have any idea how much business they are about to lose over this????

I’ve used HELLMAN’S mayo for years. Think they’re national, but can’t say for sure.
