TIM Russert's body wasn't even cold in the ground before MSNBC anchors Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann started jockeying for his job, sources claim.

Matthews was heard loudly discussing what seemed to be his strategy for landing Russert's "Meet the Press" show at Wednesday's memorial reception for the NBC Washington bureau chief at the Kennedy Center in DC. After Brian Williams, Carl Bernstein, David Gergen, Barbara Walters and NBC brass eulogized their friend, Matthews huddled with an unidentified "agent type" and seemed to be plotting...

Meanwhile, Matthews' MSNBC cable cohort Olbermann, who was also at the memorial, is "threatening to quit if he isn't installed as Russert's replacement," another insider said. "I know, it sounds ludicrous, but, then, Keith Olbermann is ludicrous."

I predict that neither will get the job since Russert’s audience was somewhat different that either of those two wackos. And I hope KO does quit in a huff.

Larry the Cable Guy is smarter than all those others combined.

Getting rid of the Olber-moron would be a plus for PMSNBC!

“Matthews’ MSNBC cable cohort Olbermann, who was also at the memorial, is “threatening to quit if he isn’t installed as Russert’s replacement,”

Let the effeminate little b*tch quit. No one will miss him.

Olbermann is on record as stating it isn’t true, and also saying he didn’t consider himself qualified for the Meet the Press slot. Surely one of the few truthful comments he’s ever made.

What’s “sick” about Keith quitting?

Vultures.......If KO gets it (which I doubt) it’ll mean MSNBC (More Stupidity from NBC) has totally gone insane. If CM gets it (maybe, but I doubt it) It’ll mean they have only partially gone insane.......My bet is Tom Brokaw.........

The insider said, "They're cable. They're far too partisan. They have no gravitas. If gravitas is eight letters, they're about seven letters short."

An accurate description of the pair.

Both probably hated him. Personally, I'd like to see Olberwoman get the job. MTP’s ratings collapse would make Katie Couric’s CBS Newz look like a winner.

The prospect(of KO quitting) kinda sends a tingle up one's leg, doesn't it?

Isn’t Olbermann one of the guys at ESPN who got arrested for urinating from atop a building?

Keith Olbermann is ludicrous

They don't even look alike. But I'd watch MTP if Ludacris was host.......

Which is why he won't get it. Meet the Press brings in about $60 million a year in profits. It has a waiting list for advertisers. NBC is not going to mess with the Golden Goose. And they won't kill it outright by putting Olbermann or Matthews in the chair.
