GOP presidential candidate John McCain is inviting his Democratic rival, Barack Obama, to participate in a joint town hall at an open-borders advocacy groups upcoming meeting in California.
There is a meeting in California of La Raza, McCain told reporters at an Arlington press conference Monday. Both of us have accepted invitations. I say that we have a town hall meeting together in front of La Raza. I think that the people will be far more informed and in some ways, entertained if we had that format.

READ WHAT I SAY HERE.
McCain is wrong on Gitmo. If he is in favor of these people having legal counsel I’d like to see that, as then I have been misinformed.
Re: ANWR if I’m misinformed then thank you for enlightening me as I think most of the USA is misinfomred.
McCain has been cloaked this way:
He’s against ANWR drilling because it would similar to drilling in the Grand Canyon or any other federal land.
If what you’re saying is true then, HE”S WRONG and secondly, the American public is being bamboozled here too.
I feel the back of my neck bristling, esp last night when I think about the choices for president this year. McCain has a chance to rally us, all of us...He can start with energy independence. I don’t give a Sh**t about Gitmo right now... I want us to be independent of those Bast*rd Arabs over there. And fast!
More judges like Midnight jogger Souter, read my hips!
“What if Tancredo and Hunter announced an independent ticket tomorrow?
There would be hope for us then!”
That’s a ticket I would support and actively campaign for: Tancredo/Hunter 2008, Tancredo/Hunter 2012!
Long Live Tom Tancredo!
I will show you evidence Hunter voted for bills that expand government size and power in a little while.
Now I’ll just show you that Tancredo was the only candidate who said anything to Huckabee when Huckabee was going on about the government schools teaching art and music in the schools to all students. The other candidates did not respond to Huckabee but Tancredo spoke up because he is the only one that felt so strongly when someone says something like Huckabee did. I was screaming at Huckabee too on the TV. The others are not really passionate as I am and as Tancredo is for reducing the size of the government imo. reason.
Tom Tancredo letting Huckabee have it in the primary debate: We dont need the Department of Education
the difference. Thats because we dont need the department. Its an encumbrance on our attempt to actually teach children in this country, as is the federal government and its intervention and its rules. You cant say on one hand, youre against having government intervention and on the other hand, tell us that you want music and art and everything else in the school. Thats not the job of a president. It is the job of a governor. Thats what you should run for if you want to dictate curriculum.

Also:
Tom Tancredo has been fighting for immigration control and secure borders for the past eight years. He also supports fair trade versus free trade and voted against CAFTA and the expansion of NAFTA and is opposed to SPP, NAU and a foreign-owned NAFTA superhighway. This year alone, Tom has authored 19 bills and amendments, including an amendment to the Homeland Security appropriations bill that will deny funds to sanctuary cities, and has co-signed 84 other bills including H.R. 25, the fair tax plan. Tom earned A or A+ ratings from every conservative group: American Conservative Union, National Right to Life Committee, National Rifle Association, Family Research Council, National Taxpayer Union, Americans for Better Immigration, National Federation of Independent Businesses.

That’s my plan.
It must be REALLY hard to be a Juanito Maverick supporter. All that doublethink must give terrible headaches.
Cause I know that whenever I’M trying to convince MYSELF to vote for the “lesser of two evils” in a lib vs lib fight, I’m encouraged knowing my candidate is actively seeking the support and endorsement of a group which is called “The Race” and who’s more colorful members actively seek the “reconquista” of the United States.
Who’s up for a nice steaming plate of cognitive dissonance?
Express your displeasure about his proposal, rather than being one of those that complains to the choir, but never takes action.
Sitting home and not voting for someone because you disagree on some issues, neglects what you do agree on, and is selfish. We must think in the macro, not the micro. As a vet, I don’t want to see our military under a Democrat EVER again. Nor do I want to see the Supreme Court made up of Liberals. Therefore I will vote for McCain.
Of course elections are about more than the military. But when you state that this one will be about energy, the economy, and jobs, you miss several points. The military is an important part of our country, without which all the rest is of little import. The Dems hate the military. The current state is a direct result of their stewardship. If you support the troops, then you can’t vote Dem. The Dems have to fight on energy, because of their disdain for the military. As for jobs and the economy, they can’t really fight on that since the economy is going gang busters for the last seven years. We have to show Americans that things aren’t the doom and gloom that the Democrats trot out every election.
Both of the reasons you give are reasons that I do not trust McCain. If you do, I am happy for you. You have a candidate.
“We have to show Americans that things arent the doom and gloom that the Democrats trot out every election.”
And try to get them to understand that a war to which most of them feel ZERO connection is somehow more important than spending the grocery money to put gas in the family car.
Good luck with that.
It isn’t a one or the other. And if you think they have zero connection, then take a look at all the organizations that prove otherwise such as MoveOn, Code Pink, ect. Most people have a very strong opinion about the war. If the economy is so bad why is the theater parking lot full every Sunday? And the concession line is still long.
I don’t agree with McCain on everything, but I know what Obama will do to this country. Too bad you can’t see that.
So are you going to sit there and be inactive, or take action?
The GOP is playing a game this time. They want to lose. They want the Democrats to take the blame for crappy gubmint healthcare, open borders, and the advance of socialism. After all, it benefits business with a steady flow of cheesy cheap labor and they do not have to pay for any benefits. Aha, the taxpayers do. How nifty.
Don’t get me wrong, they are for this as much as the Democrats, they just want the RATs to have all the misery attached to the Democrat party. Then, at a later date they can say we will fix what they have done.
Which they won’t.
Trouble is, I also see what McCain will do to this country. I am supporting, with ever more scarce dollars, Conservatives in other races. I will vote or write in Conservatives at every level. I will not vote for any of the three Democrats left in the race.
Writing in goes nowhere. Make your vote count. You don’t get a perfect candidate at anytime. Even our beloved Ronald Reagan did things that we disagreed with. McCain is strong on the war, will put conservatives on the Supreme Court, and approves of drilling.
Strong on the war, until Congress opposes him. Then he reaches across the aisle and “compromises.”
You really think he is going to work for judges that will A> overturn his signature piece of legislation or B> won’t please his Democrat friends? He did just remind them that he supported Ginsburg and Breyer.
Approves of drilling, but only in three states that already block it and where that will not change. Not for drilling in ANWR or other sources.
Sorry, no sale.
