Almost 50 companies - including PepsiCo, General Motors, Wal-Mart, FedEx, Continental Airlines, Johnson & Johnson and Chase - and some labor unions sponsored Sharpton's National Action Network annual conference in April.
Terrified of negative publicity, fearful of a consumer boycott or eager to make nice with the civil-rights activist, CEOs write checks, critics say, to NAN and Sharpton - who brandishes the buying power of African-American consumers. In some cases, they hire him as a consultant.
The cash flows even as the US Attorney's Office in Brooklyn has been conducting a grand-jury investigation of NAN's finances.

From David Horowitz's FrontpageMag.com /DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
"Throughout its history, one of RCP's [Revolutionary Communist Party] principal objectives has been to foment civil unrest in the United States. The most notable example of such efforts occurred on April 29, 1992, when RCP members looted and trashed the downtown and government districts of Los Angeles, triggering the infamous Rodney King riots. During the days immediately preceding the violence, RCP -- which maintained close ties to the L.A. gangs known as the Crips and the Bloods -- had circulated throughout South Central Los Angeles a leaflet featuring a statement by RCP National Spokesman Carl Dix, titled 'It's Right To Rebel' -- a quote popularized by Mao Zedong.
Encouraged by Dix, RCP activists helped lead the riots that would leave 58 people dead, more than 2,300 people injured, some 5,300 buildings burned, and $1 billion in property damaged or destroyed. On the ten-year anniversary of the rioting, RCP member Joseph Veale fondly recalled the violence as 'the most beautiful, the most heroic civil action in the history of the United States.'"

"The RCP upheld the 1992 sometimes-violent unrest in Los Angeles and nationally as a 'rebellion' in the aftermath of the Rodney King verdicts. Then-LAPD chief Daryl Gates alleged that the RCP was involved in the 'riots'. Los Angeles has long been one of the RCP's larger and more active branches. William 'Mobile' Shaw was a local leader who recently passed and received public commendation from the party."

Maxine Waters on the Los Angeles riots of 1992 [Rodney King riots]:
"[Maxine] Waters has been criticized for her comments regarding the Los Angeles riots of 1992. In defense of the people that looted stores and damaged property, Waters said 'If you call it a riot it sounds like it was just a bunch of crazy people who went out and did bad things for no reason. I maintain it was somewhat understandable, if not acceptable. So I call it a rebellion.'[5] She also said it was 'a spontaneous reaction to a lot of injustice' and 'The anger in my district is righteous. I'm just as angry as they are.' She responded to the mass looting of Korean-owned stores by saying: 'There were mothers who took this as an opportunity to take some milk, to take some bread, to take some shoes. They are not crooks. Everybody in the street was not a thug or a hood.'"

From the website of the Revolutionary Communist Party (revcom.us or rwor.org) :
"Create Public Opinion, Seize Power! We are preparing minds and organizing forces for the time when there is a major crack in the system, whenever it comes and wherever it comes from: an opening that makes it possible to bring the future Revolutionary Army of the Proletariat (R.A.P.) into the field and wage a revolutionary armed struggle that actually has a chance of winning. And we have said that building our party itself is the most important part of organizing forces for revolution. This is true now, and it is true looking forward to the creation of that future R.A.P. and the waging of that armed struggle.":

So Sharpton not only promotes racism (so he can continue to make a living) but extortion as well....
The ol’ Rev. found a way to make some bucks. Can’t fault him for that.
Thanks for the posting. I almost missed it the three times it was posted yesterday!
This is surprising to who? This extortion was started by and perfected by Jesse Jackson long ago. Sharpton is too stupid to have thought of this himself.
This society just becomes more and more disgusting. Corporations blackmailed by a stupid ass like Sharpton. Conservatives had better get off their behinds and do something to push this country back in the right direction.
Never fear if he is indited I am sure President BO will grant him a pardon
Yeah, like I really had you in mind when I posted it. Who the hell asked you to read it again? Do you not realize there are quite a few people on this list, some of who may not have been here yesterday for that other posting? Besides, I added something the other poster(s) certainly would not have mentioned: his and other prominent dems' link to the revolutionary communist movement/organization, World Can't Wait. Would you rather not too many people know about it? Or are you too dumb to understand the signifigance?
First time I saw it too - Freeper articles move off the forum pretty quickly too. Anyway - worth posting this 10 times!
Yeah, like I really had you in mind when I posted it. Who the hell asked you to read it again?
______
I don’t care who you are, that’s funny right there.
Yep, it’s all about you, isn’t it? /kidding
I didn’t see it, thanks for posting it.
You'd almost think there are people on this forum who want to prevent damaging information against the dems from getting out.
You’re welcome. Did you read my followup on Sharpton, Conyers and Maxine Waters’ link to the Revolutionary Communist Party? That was, by far, the most important part of the post.
Maxine Waters, self-appointed ambassador to Cuba and protector of cop killers.
Were you seriously thanking me for posting the article, or criticizing? Maybe I read it wrong?
Sounds more like she's an encourager. She and the Revolutionary Communist Party both refer to the Rodney King riots, where 58 people were killed, as a "rebellion".

Indeed.
My Grandfather, a mean SOB, chased the Good Reverend and his cronies away from his small business with a shotgun and many nights of vigilance.
My Grandparents could barely make ends meet even as business owners in a poor, rural SC town. that didn't stop The Rev from demanding payment to make sure that his store didn't burn down.
Is it really “blackmail” or are these crops willing participants? Groups like LaRaza have equal funding from some of the very same “sponsors”.
LOL! Ambassador to southern Cal.
