I meet up with Snow Eagle and her hubby at the Walmart in North Conway, NH, we intended to do a roadside protest in support of drilling in the good old US of A.
They were then going to attend the presentation Che was putting on about how not to freeze to death, in a very cold part of the US, when you can't afford to buy heating oil, and ask some pointed questions.
We set up across the street from the Walmart with signs, I will post pics, stating the Congress was not doing its job and to DRILL NOW!, CHE is a supporter of the Jimmy Carter School Of Fuel Shortages.
The reception to our message was enthusiastic, for a FReep planned on short notice I think that we got an 89% approval rating, NHerites and Mainiacs, smug looks from a few Massholes and commie Vermontes. Snow Eagle had a conversation with what appeared to be a Libertarian type which I hope she relates.
When we broke up I drove up by the school to judge the potential turn out for the First District Congresscritter didn't look promising.
I then took off for Rochester to see if their was any action to had at a similar event CHE was holding later in the day. After making the misteak of stopping for food in a tourist area, long wait. I arrived in Rochester and nothing was going on.
There were ten cars on North Main Street and maybe 15 in the city parking lot, restutant staff and bar tenders, poor CHE.
As an aside, we had a campaign staffer from the John Steven for Congress Campaign stop by and gave us some encourgement, John is the Conservitive in the Race.
Good Luck. Keep us posted.

Bill, you are to be commended for your tireless work. I always enjoy hearing about the FReeps and glad I got to participate in a couple. North Conway is one darn busy place and I’m sure the traffic was heavy. Che-Porter will be a 1-termer with any luck at all. She is a horrible embarrassment, as is our Hodes (what in hell kind of a name is that anyway?) in this district. I see some woman I never heard of has filed on the Rep side. I’m inclined to support Bossie but will look at them both. Stephen sounds like a great choice for the First District.
Did you see this charming quote from Hodes: “Green is the new red, white and blue.” I heard Che-Porter speaking recently...she makes Patty Murray look like Einstein by comparison.
Dang, Bill, it looks like you had a great time!! And that sure is a great spot. Plenty of traffic there for sure. Job well done to all!!
wkwe, that’s an amazing quote from Hodes. What a doofus.
And making Patty Murray look like a genius is quite an accomplishment. We certainly have lots to be proud of with our two NH congresscritters. /end sarc.
“Congress Lies. Prices Rise.”
I LOVE IT!!!!
I am waiting for a report from Snow Eagle on the show at the high school. She is kind of new at the posting game, I think that I will ask her to write it up and I will format it for her,
Eyes, you were right about the location and the Mainiacs. We had one woman from Maine go wild honking her horn, did a U turn on the road up to the High School and drove by us again honking with the thumbs up.
That’s great, Bill. Love the old truck. Whose is that?
ACTION ON NORTH CONWAY FReep: Ok - Im a nugget about posting so this is as good as it gets. Bill gave a great synopsis.
LOTS Of encouragement from passers by - even a cop waved.
One loser comment Drilling wont work vote democrat.
We had a good dialog with the guy in the truck (fifties vintage Chevy awesome). He was supporting alternative fuels and electric vehicles. Our argument was that drilling and researching alternative fuels are not mutually exclusive - we need to do both.
Alternative systems arent going to be available for years and if we start drilling NOW, the price immediately starts coming down because we send a signal to OPEC and the speculators that we dont need their stankin oil. It was a good discussion and I think Warren made some great points (the engineer).
I think that much of what we do - or should be doing -is educating people who have been contaminated by the MSM or who have been drinking the Kool-Aid of radical environmentalism... using facts not just emotion.
The Middle Class Forum was a bust. After trying four different doors, we finally found the one that was unlocked.
There were about a dozen people - some speakers, some attendees, one who wanted to relive the 2000 election in Fla (Bush stole the election because the voting system was faulty and still is). We waited for Shea-Porter... and waited... and waited... and finally left at 1115.
We were a small but enthusiastic group (perhaps because the local rag FAILED to put my ad in the paper although I PAID for it) and I was actually surprised with the number of supporters who honked and waved and gave thumbs up.
I zotted a follow-up article to the Sun (including that SP didnt show). I suggest more of these (greater numbers) and lots of letters to the editor to educate. Nuff said. More Announcements / Options
